Tay Melo: A Brief Biography

Taynara Melo de Carvalho is a Brazilian professional wrestler signed with AEW. She is best known for her work with WWE and AEW. She goes by the name Tay Conti and teams up with Anna Jay.


Professional Wrestling Career


WWE (2016-2020)


Conti signed with WWE in 2016. She made her debut in 2017 and was assigned to NXT. She was featured in the inaugural Mae Young Classic and lost in the first round. She took part in 2018's Mae Young Classic and lost in the second round. Conti was not heavily featured on NXT. She often took her frustrations to the management, but they had no plans. In 2020, they released Conti due to budget cuts.

AEW (2020-Present)


Conti signed with AEW after she was released from WWE. They initially used her on Dark and Elevation. She teamed up with Anna Jay for the AEW Women's Tag Team Cup Tournament: The Deadly Draw and they were eliminated in the semi-finals. Conti earned championship matches against AEW Women's World Champion and NWA Women's World Champion. However, she was unable to win either. At Full Gear, she faced Britt Baker for the title and lost. After feuding with The Bunny and Penelope Ford, Conti challenged Jade Cargill for the TBS Championship. At Revolution, Conti lost to Cargill.
