#3 QT Marshall and Bunny's AEW Romance
If there's one thing that AEW has been devoid of when it comes to wrestling tropes, it's the romantic angles. For the most part, AEW hasn't ventured into that territory, except for Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford, who are together in real life. With that said, they did technically try to go for a romantic angle between QT Marshall and Allie/The Bunny.
It wasn't clear why Bunny was clinging on to Marshall on AEW Dynamite. Fans seemed to not care for the pairing. Some fans cited that the pair were both married in real life and the concept was dropped altogether.
In a recent interview with Sportskeeda, Marshall blamed the fans for the angle not working out.
"So that was the fans' fault," said Marshall. "That was their fault. The same fans that love Dexter Lumis, who's married in real-life, has a fiancée on NXT, are the same fans that, because it was me, they didn't like the storyline. 'Oh, this insults our intelligence'. Okay, but me bouncing off the ropes doesn't insult your intelligence? Come on!"
Marshall also admitted that COVID was a factor as he got sick and had to be off television for a month. Considering that the fans weren't responding to the angle, it was perhaps for the better Tony Khan took his creative ax to it.
