This week's episode of AEW Dynamite witnessed a heartbreaking split. SCU (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) suffered a devastating loss at the hands of the Youngs Bucks in a tag team title match.

The defeat meant that Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian could no longer be a tag team. Daniels and Kazarian have been a part of the AEW tag team division since its inception.

SCU became the inaugural AEW tag team champions, when Kazarian and former stable member Scorpio Sky beat the Lucha Brothers in 2019. They went on to lose the titles to 'Hangman' Adam Page and Kenny Omega.

Since then, Kazarian and Daniels have been chasing gold in AEW and Sky split from the group to pursue the TNT title, along with a singles run. In their chase of gold, Kazarian made the ultimatum that should they ever lose a match again, the two of them would split up.

They had a great run, too, climbing to the top of the rankings before they met the Young Bucks this past week on AEW Dynamite.

Now that SCU is history, it remains to be seen what the future holds for both of them. In this article, we take a look at five directions for Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels after the SCU split.

#5 Christopher Daniels announces his retirement on the next episode of AEW Dynamite

This seems to be the likeliest option for Christopher Daniels since he recently teased his retirement on Twitter following SCU's loss against the Young Bucks. The Fallen Angel is a wrestling legend, having won multiple championships all over the world. He is currently 51 years old and his best wrestling days are behind him.

Christopher Daniels could come out during next week's episode of AEW Dynamite and deliver a heartfelt speech to announce his retirement. As emotional as it could be, it makes sense for him to retire since he has achieved so much during his three decades-long career.

Staying true to retirement is very tough for a wrestler since there are a lot of emotions attached. However, he could remain connected to the wrestling business. After all, he's the head of talent relations in AEW.

Daniels can enhance the upcoming talent in AEW through his experience and even provide training sessions. This would certainly let him stay close to what he loves the most.

#4 Frankie Kazarian renews his rivalry with Christian Cage in AEW

AEW's Frankie Kazarian could pursue a solo run in AEW following SCU's split. After losing to the Young Bucks last week, Kazarian stated that he is not done in the ring and will bounce back soon.

Frankie Kazarian can renew his rivalry with Captain Charisma on AEW Dynamite. Kazarian wrestled against Christian Cage a few weeks ago on AEW Dynamite and the bout proved that he still has a lot left in the tank.

This could be a win-win situation for both parties. Christian Cage needs to analyze if he can still hang in the ring with the young superstars. For that, Kazarian seems to be a perfect fit in here since both wrestlers are familiar with each other's work. This would be quite similar to Edge wanting to wrestle Randy Orton in WWE before he works with other superstars. Meanwhile, Kazarian can work on his character away from the SCU while feuding with Christian Cage.

Kazarian and Christian Cage can recreate their history from the ladder match at TNA’s Genisis event in 2007. Fans still get chills while watching this epic encounter. A proper rivalry between the two would be inevitable at some point.

#3 Frankie Kazarian shocks AEW and joins The Pinnacle

Frankie Kazarian joining hands with MJF would certainly be a shocking moment in the history of AEW. Both Kazarian and MJF have portrayed very different characters in their wrestling careers. Fans witnessing them side by side would be unusual.

But let's be honest here, Kazarian has been putting his body on the line for over two decades. There comes a time when a wrestler has to look after his heath and, most importantly, family. Kazarian would be inclined towards having a lighter working schedule with AEW.

For that, he needs to join a faction. Today, The Pinnacle is the hottest thing going in AEW. Their feud with The Inner Circle has made every member of the group look like a star.

After The Pinnacle finishes their feud with The Inner Circle, Kazarian could shake hands with MJF. On top of that, Kazarian will be working a much lighter schedule to what he is doing now. He will mostly be competing in tag matches. At this stage of his career, Kzarian joining a popular faction would not only prolong his career but also resurrect it.

#2 Christopher Daniels enters Casino Battle Royal at AEW Double or Nothing

If an early retirement is not in place for Christopher Daniels then he could simply insert himself into the Casino Battle Royal at AEW Double or Nothing, which is scheduled to take place on May 30th. The winner of the Casino Battle Royal will receive a future world title shot.

Christopher Daniels has won multiple championships all over the world, and is known as the king of the Indies. The Fallen angel would love to get one last shot at the AEW world title somewhere down the line.

So far, only Christian Cage and Matt Sydal have announced their entry into the battle royal. Christopher Daniels could follow suit and announce his entry this week on AEW Dynamite. Moreover, with his athleticism he could be a great asset to the match and he will definitely bring some star power too.

It is quite clear that his in-ring days are limited. Christopher Daniels will not be the frontrunner to win the battle royal but could elevate several superstars during the match.

#1 Frankie Kazarian turns on his friend Christopher Daniels on AEW Dynamite

Best friends becoming foes? Frankie Kazarian turning on Christopher Daniels on AEW Dynamite would be huge. As much of a shocker it would be, the segment will be gold. We have seen many segments in the past where best friends ultimately turn on each other.

Christopher Daniels could come out this week on Dynamite to address SCU's loss to the Young Bucks. Frankie Kazarian then makes his way to the ring and hugs his best friend. The moment would certainly become emotional but then Kazarian would attack Daniels viciously and turn heel in the process.

Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian have been wrestling together for almost a decade. It makes sense to have two best friends face each other. The storyline could do wonders if made more personal by the time they spent together at AEW.

Moreover, Frankie Kazarian can reinvent his character as a heel by defeating Christopher Daniels. He can even retire his best friend by having a career on the line stipulation. There are so many endless possibilities if this bout is given the green light by AEW.
