Heading into AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, MJF vs. Brian Pillman Jr. is one of the most personal matches we have seen in the company's recent history. The issues between the two stars began when The Salt of the Earth spoke badly about Cincinnati and Linda Pillman who was ringside.

Pillman Jr. made his way to the ring to confront MJF, but Wardlow took care of him and his partner Griff Garrison. Following more verbal back and forth, the inevitable match was booked and the Varsity Blonds member has a great opportunity to showcase his abilities against one of the finest heels in wrestling.

MJF has taken some extremely personal shots at Brian Pillman Jr. by mocking his family and going as far as to pretend to communicate with his late father. Pillman Jr. is itching to get his hands on the Pinnacle leader.

With the background in place and anticipation at a high, let's take a look at five possible finishes for the match at Grand Slam.

#5. Brian Pillman Jr. defeats MJF clean at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam

Let's be real, this is highly unlikely to happen. MJF is unquestionably the bigger star and rubbing shoulders against him in this feud has already benefited Pillman Jr. immensely. The Salt of the Earth just lost a big match to Chris Jericho at All Out 2021, so he likely won't lose again.

Nevertheless, there's an off chance that All Elite Wrestling throws us off with a Brian Pillman Jr. clean win over one of the biggest stars in the promotion. It would be a watershed moment for the second-generation star, who has been thrust into the spotlight like this for the first time in his career and has more than held his own.

Pillman Jr. winning clean against MJF would be the biggest moment of his career and unlikely as it is, one cannot totally rule it out.

#4. Griff Garrison assists Brian Pillman Jr. to defeat MJF at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam

Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr. attempted to take MJF down at AEW Dynamite but found a Wardlow-shaped behemoth on their way who didn't hesitate to knock them both down. Rest assured, the big man will most likely make his presence felt in some shape or form during the match at Grand Slam.

That's when Garrison steps in not only to nullify Wardlow's threat but also to play a crucial hand in assisting his tag team partner to pick up the biggest win of his career.

#3. MJF cheats to defeat Brian Pillman Jr. at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam

MJF is yet to win a title in AEW but did win a very expensive diamond ring in the form of the Diamond Dynamite Ring that he won after defeating Hangman Adam Page. The ring has helped him gain an unfair advantage plenty of times and is likely to play a part at Grand Slam as well.

That's not the only form of cheating he is likely to leverage. Wardlow at ringside is a constant threat and any referee distraction could lead to him launching Brian Pillman Jr. in a hellacious F10 to gift MJF the victory.

#2. MJF defeats Brian Pillman Jr. clean at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam

AEW has done a good job of holding back on MJF's cheating in recent matches. Being the heel, one would expect him to use tactics like using the ropes for a pin attempt or grabbing his opponent's trunks, but the fact is, MJF defeated Chris Jericho cleanly on Dynamite.

Following a loss to Le Champion after a Dusty finish at All Out, getting a clean win over Brian Pillman Jr. would be the best course of action for the former MLW star. Cocky heels who can back their claims up with clean wind make for the most despicable and unbearable heels and at Grand Slam, MJF going over clean would be the best booking decision.

#1. Wardlow costs MJF at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam

Wardlow and MJF's slow burn in AEW has been quite evident for nearly two years now. The promotion is obviously holding back on a full-fledged babyface turn for the former, and that is 100% the right call.

During previous episodes of AEW programming, we have witnessed Wardlow take some time to consider if he should interject himself in the confrontations involving MJF and Brian Pillman Jr. While he does save the Pinnacle leader, it often happens after Pillman Jr. has laid a few blows on The Salt of the Earth's head.

At Grand Slam, Wardlow could attempt to help MJF, costing him instead and allowing Brian Pillman Jr. to pickup an upset win. It would hand the Pinnacle leader a second consecutive big loss causing him to berate Wardlow. The juggernaut's patience has been wearing thin, and that could be the time he snaps and breaks MJF in half.
