AEW Dark: Elevation Results - Former WWE star challenges Sting, Paul Wight segment, Matt Hardy debuts new finisher - 5th April 2021

We're back with another stacked episode of AEW Dark: Elevation and today's card was headlined by a double main event.

Paul Wight and Tony Schiavone welcomed the fans as always before turning their attention to the show's first match.


"Hangman" Adam Page vs. Bill Collier on AEW Dark: Elevation

Collier used his power to floor Adam Page in the early goings of the match. Hangman responded with a chop, and Collier fired back with a few too.

Bill caught Page's kick and reacted with a big right-hand punch. Collier continued to land Kane-Esque strikes.

Collier delivered an impressive-looking delayed vertical suplex, followed by a leg drop for a one-count. Page created some separation by sending Collier outside. Hangman executed the plancha over the top rope before sending his opponent back into the ring.

He connected with three kicks on Collier, followed by a fallaway slam and a standing moonsault press for a two-count. Collier fought back with a few strikes to the back. Page followed him to the top and delivered a Frankenstiener. Page hit two running lariats, followed by the Buckshot Lariat, for the win.

Page shared a beer with Collier after the match, which was seen as a sign of respect.


Dean Alexander & Carlie Bravo vs. Varsity Blonds on AEW Dark: Elevation

Griff Garrison and Dean Alexander kicked off the match with a quick headlock exchange. Pillman Jr. got tagged and focused on Dean Alexander's left arm.

Varsity Blonds made quick tags and isolated Alexander in their corner. The Blonds executed a drop-toe hold-double stomp combo on Alexander for a two-count.

Dean got back into the match by attacking Garrison's legs. Bravo finally got tagged for the first time, and he kept Griff Garrison in his corner.

Alexander came back in and hit a Russian leg sweep followed by a double missile dropkick with Bravo.

Garrison, however, fought his way out of the opposite corner to make the hot tag to Pillman, who came in and executed a classic scoop power slam. He took Bravo out with a running dropkick through the middle ropes.

The Blonds hit the Missile dropkick/powerbomb double team combo on Carlie Bravo for the win.

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. (w/ Reba) vs. Alex Gracia on AEW Dark: Elevation

Baker grabbed the microphone and called Alex Gracia an enhancement talent before the match. Baker claimed she was the face of AEW's women's division and would handily squash Gracia.

Baker boasted about being a deathmatch expert and a proficient Greco-roman wrestler. Baker then gave Gracia a headstart by handing her opponent an excellent position to start the match on the mat. It was all just a trap as Baker turned around and caught Gracia in the Lockjaw.

Danny Limelight vs. Preston "10" Vance of The Dark Order

Limelight landed a few punches, but Vance asserted his dominance early in the AEW Dark: Elevation match with a show of freakish power. Vance dropped Limelight with a shoulder tackle and a back body drop.

Vance sent Danny to the other side with a fallaway slam. Limelight grabbed Vance's belt and sent him face-first into the middle turnbuckle.

Danny saw a weakness in Preston's left arm, and he kicked it a few times to aggravate the pain. Limelight continued to work on the left arm with a hammerlock on the ropes.

10 tried to fight back with a few chops and strikes in the corner, but Danny got back to the injured arm. The storyline injury continued to play a significant role in the match as Limelight directed the offense to Vance's arm.

Preston couldn't use his power to good effect as his left hand gave him a considerable amount of discomfort. Limelight executed a ripcord takedown and had Vance in a hold.

10 broke out and executed two clotheslines on the feet. he hit a sling blade off the top rope, followed by a powerful spinebuster. Limelight blocked the Full Nelson and got Vance down with a Judo throw. Preston then blocked a kick and hit a pump kick himself for a two-count.

Limelight managed to lock in the triangle sleeper out of nowhere, and Vance was in a world of trouble. The Dark Order member got out of the submission move with a few desperate strikes from the top.

Vance finally got Limelight in the Full Nelson lock back on the feet, and that was a wrap.

Big Swole vs. Jazmin Allure on AEW Dark: Elevation

Swole used her power to take Allure down. Big Swole drove her knees into Allure's back, and she maintained back control for a few seconds in the AEW Dark: Elevation match.

Swole delivered a nice hip toss, and the action moved outside. Swole sent Allure her opponent into the railing and the ring apron.

Big Swole locked in a Camel Clutch on Allure in the ring. She hit a knee shot and a Diving European Uppercut on Allure.

Jazmin connected with a few elbow strikes and a big running lariat. Allure hit a dropkick, which gave her a two-count. She mounted Swole and delivered a series of punches.

Swole, though, caught Allure in mid-air and slammed her opponent down to the mat. Big Swole executed a double-underhook powerbomb into a Texas Cloverleaf for the victory on AEW Dark Elevation.

Dasha Gonzalez interviewed the Sydal brothers ahead of their AEW Dark: Elevation match against Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page.


Michael Nakazawa vs. Vary Morales on AEW Dark: Elevation

Nakazawa stalled the match as he spoke to someone on his headset. Vary was in no mood for the games as he went on the offensive. Morales executed an extensive arm drag which got him a two-count.

Nakazawa dropped Vary on his back and took control of the match. Michael sent Vary across the ropes before delivering a running elbow strike.

Morales hit two clotheslines and a dropkick to flatten Nakazawa. He went to the top and hit a diving crossbody on Nakazawa near ringside. Morales rolled Michael into the ring for a two-count.

Nakazawa hit a back elbow and a follow-up spear. Morales almost got the win with a roll-up, but Michael kicked out.

Morales went for a running strike in the corner, but Nakazawa used the referee as a distraction. He hit Morales with the laptop while the referee had his back turned. Nakazawa hit his finisher for the win on AEW Dark: Elevation.

Lance Archer vs. Baron Black on AEW Dark: Elevation

Lance Archer made his entrance on AEW Dark: Elevation accompanied by a beaten-up Baron Black. The Murderhawk Monster viciously picked Black apart while Jake 'The Snake' Roberts talked about his client on commentary booth.

Lance Archer got a two-count from a modified springboard splash on Black.

Baron did start a brief comeback with a few punches and kicks. However, Archer dropped his opponent with a one-handed chokeslam. Lance Archer hit the Blackout for the win.

This was a one-sided squash in favor of Lance Archer, and all that Baron Black could do was merely connect with a few punches throughout the match.

Jake Roberts entered the ring and cut a promo before handing the microphone to Lance Archer. The Murderhawk said that it was his time to shine in AEW. Archer complained that AEW had not given him fair opportunities or the spotlight, and he specifically called out Sting.

Lance Archer said that Sting inspired every wrestler who worked for AEW, but he had a problem with the veteran's attitude in the company. Archer - formerly known as Lance Hoyt from his WWE days - ended his promo with a big threat to Sting.


Tesha Price vs. Ryo Mizunami on AEW Dark: Elevation

Both women engaged in an aggressive collar and elbow tie-up. Mizunami got the early advantage with a shoulder tackle. Price grabbed Ryo's hair, but the Joshi veteran responded by scooping and slamming Price.

Price wasn't backing down from a fight as she connected with a few good strikes. Mizunami responded with another running shoulder tackle. The 16-year veteran connected with the punches, forearm shimmers, and chops.

Ryo hit a flurry of chops in the corner. She missed the last one chop due to an extended bout of showboating. Tesha countered by biting Ryo, which was surprisingly legal for a five-second count.

Price hit the running bulldog on Mizunami for a two-count. Ryo blocked a German suplex but got caught in a full nelson lock. The Joshi veteran turned around and hit another chop.

Mizunami got a two-count from a powerslam. She followed it with three leg drops and got another close call. Mizunami had Price in the torture rack, but Tesha raked Ryo in the eyes and escaped the hold.

Price got a few quick roll-ups, but Mizunami kicked out. Back on the feet, Mizunami connected with a lariat. Ryo picked up the win on AEW Dark: Elevation with the help of a spear.

Main Event #1: Colt Cabana (w/ Evil Uno) vs. Max Caster (w/ Anthony Bowens) on AEW Dark: Elevation

Max Caster dropped a verse during his entrance, and he unsurprisingly dissed The Dark Order. Cabana wanted Evil Uno to be in his corner, and he went back and pulled the veteran out.

A snug collar and elbow tie-up kicked off the match. Cabana used his experience to get the upper hand in the mat exchanges. Colt had a vice-like grip on the headlock. Cabana, though, ended up getting laid out with a head scissors takedown. Bowens came in with an assist, and Caster was now on top in the match.

Max started working on Cabana's left shoulder. Colt delivered a few punches to Caster's gut, but AEW's in-house rapper got back to the injured left shoulder.

Cabana fought back with a few strikes, but Caster threw his opponent shoulder-first into the turnbuckle. Max scored multiple two-count pins before going right back to the shoulder.

Cabana evaded an incoming strike and began to mount his comeback. Colt connected with a few rights before hitting the winded-up elbow. Cabana improvised in mid-air and hit a splash on Caster for a two-count.

Max absorbed two chops but dropped Cabana's neck onto his right knee. Caster trapped Cabana in a shoulder submission, but Colt reversed it into a pinning predicament.

Cabana got a two-count with a hip attack. Bowens attempted to throw the chain towards Caster, but the weapon accidentally flew right into Evil Uno's hands on the other side of the ring. It was, however, all part of The Acclaimed's plan to distract the referee.

Aubrey Edwards took notice of the situation and had a word with Uno. Meanwhile, Bowens slipped in the boombox, and Caster sent Cabana head-first into it with a drop toehold.

Aubrey turned her head, and Caster rolled up Cabana for the three-count. Platinum Max Caster's incredible singles winning streak continues, and it now stands at seven victories on the trot.

The Butcher & The Blade, Private Party (w/ Matt Hardy & The Bunny) vs. Adam Priest, Ryzin, D3 & Fuego Del Sol on AEW Dark: Elevation

The Hardy Family Office attacked their opponents, giving them no time to settle down in the AEW Dark: Elevation match. The Blade took D3 in his corner, and the domination began.

Butcher came into the match and chopped D3 in the chest. Isiah Kassidy came in and connected with a barrage of strikes. D3's attempts to fight back were futile as he was in the wrong corner.

Marq Quen received the tag, and he drove his shin into D3's face. Quen hit a forehead-high dropkick on D3, followed by a leg drop.

Bunny kicked D3 on the outside while the referee was distracted. Wight then said that Bunny needed some therapy, and we indeed agree on that, Paul!

D3 finally made the tag to Fuego Del Sol. Alabama's top luchador single-handedly took out both members of the Private Party.

All hell broke loose as Butcher and the Blade rushed in to attack their opponents. Private Party hit stereo step-up Enziguris on Del Sol.

Butcher & The Blade then executed the Full Death on Del Sol for the win.

Showcase with Paul Wight: John Silver

Paul Wight's new segment, Showcase, debuted on AEW Dak: Elevation, and the star under the spotlight today was John Silver. Wight interviewed the wholly entertaining Dark Order member.

Silver spoke about his wrestling journey and revealed how he started his career at the age of 14. Silver explained that it took him and Reynolds 15 years to get an identity as a tag team act.

Silver also revealed how he joined the Dark Order, Stu Grayson's influence, and his relationship with Brodie Lee.

John shared his feelings about the TNT title match against Darby Allin. Silver has to recuperate from his shoulder injury, but the Dark Order member stated that his goal is to win a title in AEW in 2021. He even has his eyes on the AEW World Championship!

Matt Hardy vs. Alan "5" Angels on AEW Dark: Elevation

Matt Hardy and Alan Angels exchanged words before the AEW match. Hardy's psychological warfare spurned Angels to go on the offensive.

Big Money Matt's plan worked as he took control of the proceedings. Hardy connected with an elbow, followed by a leg drop.

Angels landed a few punches from the southpaw position, but Hardy responded with a running lariat. Matt connected with an elbow drop from the ropes, and he called for the Twist of Fate.

Angels reversed the finisher but ate a boot to the mid-section. Hardy looked for the crucifix powerbomb, but Alan escaped and landed a few kicks to the back and chest.

Angels reversed another Twist of Fate into a backslide for a two-count. 5 had done his homework as he effectively countered the Twist of Fate and hit a diving splash on Hardy.

Angels got a two-count by turning Hardy over with a snapmare. Angels missed the springboard moonsault and got caught in a side slam. The Dark Order member kicked out at two and stayed alive in the AEW Dark: Elevation match.

Alan reversed yet another Twist of Fate, but this time, he hit a Wingsnapper. Hardy rolled out of the ring, preventing Angels from executing a quick pin. The dark Order member got Hardy back into the squared circle.

Matt kicked Angels in the groin area before delivering a botchy Twist of Fate. Matt Hardy finished the AEW Dark: Elevation match with 'The Leech' (his new submission finisher) on Angels.

Result: Matt Hardy def. Alan Angels on AEW Dark: Elevation

Grade: C+


After the match, Matt Hardy cut a promo and promised that the HFO (Hardy Family Office) would destroy the Dark Order. Matt Hardy also had a message for TNT Champion Darby Allin.


Main Event #2: Scorpio Sky & Ethan Page vs. The Sydal Brothers (Matt & Mike Sydal) on AEW Dark: Elevation

Scorpio Sky and Matt Sydal had a heated exchange of words, and all four men got into the ring for a chaotic brawl.

The Sydal brothers drew first blood, and they took Ethan Page out of the equation. The Sydals hit a double stomp on Scorpio Sky. Mike executed a standing moonsault on Sky for a two-count.

Ethan Page created a distraction, and Sky attacked Mike Sydal's injured left knee. The heels were now on top as Mike Sydal got worked in the opposing corner.

Sky executed a perfect backbreaker on Mike for a two-count. Page got the tag, and he kicked Sydal in the kidney area. The former IMPACT Wrestling star hit a knee breaker and kept Sydal grounded before tagging Sky.

Scorpio Sky locked in a single-leg Boston Crab, continuing the onslaught on Sydal's knee. Mike executed two forward rolls to make the hot tag to his brother finally.

Matt Sydal hit a series of kicks on Sky. Page came in, and he got a wheel kick for all his troubles. Sydal got a near fall on Sky with a brainbuster.

Page, however, ran in and bulldozed Sydal out of the way. Matt caught a pump kick and delivered a hard-hitting spin kick for another near fall.

Page fought both the Sydal brothers, who stopped the big man and delivered a double wristlock takedown. Sky came in to make the save.

Referee Bryce Remsburg tried to get Matt out of the match as he wasn't the legal man, and Sky took advantage of the distraction by attacking Mike's knee. Sky struck Matt in the corner while Ethan Page hit the Ego's Edge on Mike Sydal for the win on AEW Dark: Elevation.

Result: Scorpio Sky & Ethan Page def. The Sydal Brothers on AEW Dark: Elevation
