One of All Elite Wrestling’s top stars celebrated a huge life moment. Meanwhile, Chris Jericho shared a throwback memory of his days when he battled John Cena, and Mercedes Mone was put on notice by a rising star. There are several headline-making stories for us to look at, so let's jump in.

#4 AEW's Chris Jericho references John Cena

Chris Jericho has been away from AEW television since April, but he recently made the wrestling community buzz by referencing WWE legend John Cena.

The former AEW World Champion shared a throwback video on his Instagram stories, which was a clip from his feud with John Cena in WWE in 2005. The footage shows the Learning Tree ambushing Cena, which culminated in a rivalry that included clashes at the Vengeance and SummerSlam pay-per-views.

While recent reports have suggested there are no immediate plans for his AEW return, the timing of the post has raised speculations about a possible WWE move for Jericho, especially since he admitted earlier this year that he would consider a WWE return if the situation called for it.

#3 Will Ospreay got engaged to Alex Windsor

Will Ospreay has officially announced his engagement to long-time partner and fellow wrestler Alex Windsor. The aerial assassin shared the news on X with a photo of Windsor flashing her engagement ring, captioned, “She said Yes.”

Windsor, a staple on the UK indie circuit, recently signed with Tony Khan's promotion, making this both a personal and professional high point for the couple.

Inside the ring, Ospreay continues to prove himself as one of AEW's most valuable stars, with his most recent match with Swerve Strickland at Summer Blockbuster ending in a thrilling time-limit draw.

#2 Tegan Nox puts Mercedes Mone and others on notice

In a recent episode of the We Just Talk Wrestling podcast, former WWE star Tegan Nox, currently known as Nixon Newell, addressed her future goals. After her release from WWE, Nox has been making waves on the indie scene, and now she’s openly eyeing AEW.

One of her top targets is Mercedes Mone (FKA Sasha Banks). Nox revealed her desire to run it back with Mone, along with other potential matches against All Elite Wrestling mainstays, like Kris Statlander, Athena, and Willow Nightingale.

While there are currently no solid rumors linking Nox to AEW, it will be interesting to see if she does eventually join the Jacksonville-based promotion.

#1 Al Snow says Tony Khan would have signed R Truth to hurt WWE

Wrestling veteran and former Hardcore Champion Al Snow recently dropped an interesting claim about Tony Khan and R-Truth.

Speaking on the latest episode of Vince Russo's The Brand, Snow discussed the confusing release of R-Truth from WWE and his quick return, a situation that saw Truth tweet his departure, only to return suddenly at Money in the Bank and on RAW with a new gimmick. What made this even more interesting was that WWE CCO Triple H labeled the incident all part of the show, but Truth’s own words suggest otherwise.

Snow believes WWE may have rushed to re-sign Truth after the fan backlash and to prevent AEW from swooping in, but stressed that Tony Khan would have loved to sign Truth to hurt the Stamford-based promotion.

"The one person that I know would have jumped on board and signed him in a heartbeat would have been Tony Khan. "He would have snapped him right up... just basically to rub WWE’s nose in it," Said Snow
