#3. Kenny Omega comments on Daniel Bryan and CM Punk amid rumors of their AEW signings

Based on all the rumors going around, it's safe to say that Daniel Bryan and CM Punk will eventually be AEW stars. Unsurprisingly, there is a lot of hype, and AEW's Kenny Omega was asked about the former WWE champions during the latest WOR episode.

The AEW champion smartly evaded the idea of giving hints about imminent signings and instead spoke about Daniel Bryan and CM Punk as performers.

Kenny Omega is familiar with Bryan Danielson as they faced each other at ROH and PWG nearly 11 years ago. The AEW star said Daniel Bryan was an intelligent wrestler who expertly managed crowds and their reactions.

Omega credited Bryan for single-handedly creating the 'Yes Movement' that resulted in an unlikely championship victory at WrestleMania 30. The AEW wrestler felt Daniel Bryan's dedication and desire to be the best forced WWE to change its 'Mania plans.

Omega added that Bryan was always gifted with the ability to have wrestling fans in the palm of his hands, and he proved it in the WWE.

"Danielson - I still call him Bryan Danielson - Daniel Bryan, I always knew that he was incredibly intelligent. He's ridiculously smart, especially as it relates to professional wrestling. And for him to kind of create a movement, an actual legitimate movement with the Yes Movement and all that. For him to come up with that, he created it. And there's absolutely no way you could find written documented evidence saying, 'oh, we always planned to have your WrestleMania moment, be the champion,' I wouldn't believe it. Even if I saw it in front of my face, I don't think that was ever the plan. But he made it the plan because he's just that smart... he was able to turn it around and emerge as a megastar because he is smart enough in a wrestling sense, in a business sense, and just like in ROH how he was able to have those fans in the palm of his hand, he's able to have the entire WWE Universe in the palm of his hand with one word."

Kenny Omega similarly had high praise for CM Punk, who, according to The Best Bout Machine, stood out from your usual present-day wrestlers. The AEW megastar stated that Punk has a dedicated fan following who truly believed that the former WWE star is the best in the world.

The AEW EVP continued to delve deeper and complimented Punk's overall package, including the entrance, in-ring work, promos, and character development:

"CM Punk, a guy who just has again, he probably has a different line of thinking than your current day performer and the average performer, and he has this incredible reputation. He has fans to this day who would follow him to the end of the earth. A very dedicated fanbase. And that fanbase believes that he is the best in the world and will be the best until the end of time," Kenny Omega said."And if you're able to have people like that follow your career so passionately, you probably have something very special about you. And it just goes to show you that the way he presented himself, the way he spoke to his opponents, how he performed in the ring, entrance music, his image - it was all very meticulous, and he was very intelligent about how he went about it," Kenny Omega added.

Kenny Omega has a lot of respect for Daniel Bryan and CM Punk, and he could soon be in the same ring as the established veterans in AEW.
