AEW's CJ Perry reveals one WWE decision that affected her the most - "That was definitely hard, It was rough"

Could this be a reason why CJ Perry never tried to go back to WWE?
CJ Perry is a former WWE Superstar.

AEW star CJ Perry (FKA Lana) had a lengthy tenure in WWE but was one of the names released in 2021. However, according to the star, a specific decision by the promotion hurt her the most.

While she started her run in the promotion as a manager alongside her now-husband, Miro, Perry eventually became an active competitor. However, WWE underwent many changes during her run, some of which ultimately affected her ability to make money.

During an interview with Fightful, the AEW star recalled how a letter from Vince McMahon prevented any WWE stars from making money outside of the promotion.

"That was hard when WWE stopped us and Vince gave us all those letters. That was definitely hard. It was rough. I was a little sad at the time, I remember because I felt like it was the only thing I could control. You can’t control storylines. So I felt it was the one place I had a little more control over." According to Perry, Miro was not happy with how she was "exploited" in WWE, and during an interview with Chris Van Vliet, she discussed her approach to his reaction.

CJ Perry recently revealed that there were attempts to make her debut at AEW All In

Miro and Powerhouse Hobbs had a brief feud before All In kicked off, but unfortunately, the two men were excluded from the historic pay-per-view. However, the two finally clashed at AEW All Out, where Perry made her debut.

However, according to CJ Perry during her interview with Chris Van Vliet, Miro heavily pushed for his wife to debut at All In.

“Miro was pushing, a lot of this was his idea, a lot of the story. He wanted it to be in London, but Tony really had a vision for it to happen in Chicago, and he’s from Chicago and loves Chicago and I love Chicago. So here we go.” [H/T: Fightful]

Despite this, the couple are currently not on good terms in All Elite Wrestling, as Miro seems to be holding a grudge against his wife. CJ Perry hasn't allowed this to stop her, as she continues to look for another top star to manage despite Miro attacking whoever she sets her sights on.
