Mercedes Mone recently added another international wrestling championship to her growing catalogue of titles. One of the competitors whom the AEW star battled to win the belt, Mila Smidt, has now responded to the erstwhile Sasha Banks' triumph on social media.
When she made her All Elite Wrestling debut last year, Mercedes Mone promised to kickstart a global revolution in women's wrestling. The CEO has been true to her word, competing against not just AEW's best and brightest but also talent from other promotions around the world. Her expedition has landed her championship gold across a number of companies in addition to her TBS Title, including the NJPW Strong Women's Championship and the RevPro Undisputed British Women's Championship.
Although she recently lost the NJPW Strong Women's Title (albeit without being pinned), Mercedes has already made up for it by adding another championship to her name, the EWA Women's Championship, a belt she won by winning a three-way match against defending champion Lexa Valo and Mila Smidt at EWA Prater Catchen 2025 in Vienna, Austria. A day after wrestling Mone, Smidt took to her X profile to convey her gratitude and voice her respect for the former WWE Superstar, even planting the seeds for a future showdown.
"WHAT A NIGHT FOR WOMEN'S WRESTLING! Thank you for everything, @MercedesVarnado! You are such a legend in and out of the ring! Until next time,'' she wrote.

The French grappler, notably, held the EWA Women's Title for over 200 days as the inaugural champion from July 2023 to March 2024.
Mercedes Mone is set for a huge AEW title match
Mercedes Mone continued her unbeaten singles streak in AEW when she defeated Jamie Hayter at Double or Nothing 2025 in the finals of this year's Women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Her victory earned her a shot at Toni Storm's AEW Women's World Title at All In: Texas.
Mone came face-to-face with The Timeless One last month on Dynamite, and their tense confrontation nearly ended in physicality. This past Wednesday at Fyter Fest, Mercedes watched Storm and Mina Shirakawa take on and defeat Julia Hart and Skye Blue in tag team action while eating a steak beside the announcers' desk.
After the bout, Storm partook in the TBS Champion's meal, much to The CEO's annoyance. It remains to be seen if Mercedes Mone will get even with The Illustrious One next week at AEW Summer Blockbuster.
