WWE SmackDown booked a match between Dolph Ziggler and Kevin Owens to determine which Superstar would enter Team SmackDown for Survivor Series. Ziggler was accompanied to the ring by Robert Roode, and it was kind of obvious that he’d have a role to play in the match.

Roode helped Ziggler take control of the match and he hit The Prizefighter with a neck breaker to try and pick up the victory early.

Outside the ring, The Glorious One attacked KO from behind while the referee was distracted to help his partner gain back control. However, the referee realized that something was going on and decided to kick Roode out of the arena.

The two SmackDown Superstars got back to action and Ziggler countered a Popup Powerbomb attempt with a Famouser to score a near-fall. Finally, KO was able to block a Superkick from The Showoff and hit him with the Stunner to pick up the victory.

This allows Owens to make it to Survivor Series for Team SmackDown just weeks after making it back to the brand. KO is a world-class performer, and it was a good decision to have him become a part of Team Blue. He has the potential to go on and become the captain of the side.

Earlier this week on RAW, The New Day dressed up as The Street Profits and targeted their opponents for Survivor Series in a backstage segment. This week on SmackDown, The Street Profits cut a promo directed at The New Day to hype their match against the most decorated tag team of WWE.

Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura came out for a match against The Street Profits. Angelo Dawkins and Cesaro kicked off the match but Montez Ford came into the action soon after. This gave fans a great spot as Cesaro propelled Ford over the barricades outside the ring with ease.

The two teams then traded the action in the ring, and Nakamura tried to gain control for his team before Dawkins made it back to the ring. Nakamura and Cesaro almost had Dawkins with a double team before Ford broke up the pin.

Finally, Ford managed to hit a beautiful Frog Splash to pick up the victory for his team. This hard-fought match allowed Cesaro and Nakamura to come out strong even in defeat and remain up top in the SmackDown tag team division.

Adam Pearce was caught between some of the top women on SmackDown backstage ahead of Survivor Series, and he was made to book a Triple Threat Match between Natalya, Bianca Belair, and Billie Kay for a spot on Team Blue.

While Kay has been out of favor in WWE in recent weeks, she got a chance to shine as a singles performer. However, Belair and Natalya were too good for the Australian Superstar who kept trying to make a comeback in the match.

Natalya and Kay tried to target the more powerful Belair and both women ended up locking her in a submission hold together. As Natalya tried to deal with Kay and take her out of the equation, Belair hit the KOD to pick up the victory and earn a spot on Team SmackDown for Survivor Series.

This was a good match that allowed all three women to get some big spots. Belair rightfully came out on top, but, oddly, Natalya will be missing out of Team SmackDown as she is a top performer.

WWE SmackDown’s new couple Murphy and Aalyah came out to the ring and looked to apologize to Rey and Dominik Mysterio. Murphy realized that all that he’d done to the Mysterio family was wrong, and he wanted to apologize for his actions.

He asked for Rey and Dominik Mysterio to come out, but Seth Rollins answered the call instead. The Savior of SmackDown ran his mouth as usual and told Murphy that the Mysterios would never forgive or accept him.

However, he told Murphy that he was ready to forgive and accept him if he was ready to apologize to him. Rollins tried to get under their skin but Dominik came out to attack The Messiah. Murphy pulled Dominik away and started beating down Rollins himself. This led to a fight between The Juggernaut and Dominik.

Rey Mysterio entered the picture and set up to hit a 619 but Aalyah stopped him in his tracks. She told her father and brother that she loved Murphy and refused to leave with them.

This was an incredible segment on SmackDown that took the story on a whole new level. Rollins smiling at the end of it all shows that it could all be going according to The Messiah’s plans.

The only cringe-worthy part was the kiss between the young Aalyah and the much older Murphy.

Roman Reigns kicked off WWE SmackDown this week and cut an emotional promo in which he gave Jey Uso an ultimatum. He told Uso that he had until the end of SmackDown to fall in line or The Tribal Chief would eject him from the family.

Daniel Bryan and Jey Uso locked horns at the end of the night for a chance to take a spot on Team SmackDown for Survivor Series. Jey Uso was much more aggressive during the match, and he delivered some solid strikes to the former WWE Champion.

Uso seemed to be in two minds during the match as he wasn’t sure what he’d have to do by the end of the night. Bryan got back into the match and hit Jey Uso with a series of Yes Kicks before Uso decided to roll out of the ring. That’s when Reigns decided to make his way out to watch the action from close up.

Jey Uso and Bryan continued their great match and The Planet’s Champion locked Uso in a LeBell Lock. Jey Uso used the ropes to break the lock and then hit Bryan with a Superfly Splash soon after to pick up the victory and become a part of Team SmackDown.

After the match, Uso acknowledged Roman Reigns as the head of the table before Reigns signaled him to unleash hell on Bryan. Jey Uso hit Bryan with a Superkick followed by another Superfly Splash. He continued to beat down Bryan on Reigns’ orders and put him through the announce table with another Superfly Splash to close the show.

This was an incredible segment that allowed Jey Uso to turn heel and join Reigns’ side. It could also lead to Bryan entering the Universal Championship picture, and we could see KO join The Planet’s Champion after the two teased a partnership not too long ago.
