Black Clover season 5 has been the topic of discussion among fans of the series since the anime adaptation hasn’t put out any content for almost three and a half years. The anime adaptation was halted abruptly due to insufficient manga source material for the studio to use. Fans are finding it hard to accurately prejudice the season 5 release date because of the lack of updates from the studio.

Since then, fans are worried about the fact that Studio Pierrot might not continue to adapt the anime for a few reasons. One of them is the massive projects that they have undertaken in the recent past.

For the unversed, Studio Pierrot is an industry titan that has created some of the best anime adaptations. However, fans are worried that Black Clover season 5 is going to be a distant dream, given how things are progressing at this point.

Black Clover season 5: Studio Pierrot might not undertake this project in the coming years

The Black Clover manga is quite an entertaining read, to say the least. However, it has failed to grab the attention of animanga fans in a way that the Bleach Thousand Year Blood War adaptation or the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga has. Black Clover season 5 certainly won’t be worked on until the studio completes the adaptation of the Thousand Year Blood War arc, which will conclude the Bleach storyline.

The animation quality is better which indicates that the studio is utilizing a substantial amount of resources. They cannot afford to work on another project simultaneously.

Even after Studio Pierrot has its schedule freed up after the completion of Bleach, it’s unlikely that Black Clover season 5 will be picked up right after that. The Boruto IP is a lot more valuable in comparison to Yuki Tabata’s magnum opus.

Some might even argue that the Boruto manga is objectively not as good as Black Clover, especially when we consider the contents prior to the release of Two Blue Vortex. That being said, the animation studio could stray away from the current release schedule and focus on making it a seasonal title. This way, there’s not much filler that they will need to use, and the animation quality will also improve drastically.

With these things in mind, it’s hard to predict the Black Clover season 5 release date. It could be years from now, before the fifth season even enters the production stage. Therefore, fans must manage their expectations with regards to season 5 and its release.

Studio Pierrot cannot afford to work on the fifth season because of Bleach. Furthermore, the animation studio might continue working on the Boruto series since the IP is a lot more valuable than Black Clover. With these constraints in mind, it’s very likely that Studio Pierrot could drop the title and this could result in a shift in animation studios.

One Punch Man is a popular anime series that saw a change in the animation studio when the second season was announced. This isn’t particularly uncommon in this industry. If Studio Pierrot takes a call to retain the series, fans could see the release of season 5 one year after the manga concludes.
