Boruto manga has the entire fanbase on the edge of their seats. The Two Blue Vortex manga chapters have featured plenty of action and the pace of the story’s progression has increased significantly. Prior to the time-skip, the manga chapters felt lackluster and stagnant.
However, the events following the time-skip indicate a potential shift in the series’ tone and atmosphere. Being the sequel to the original Naruto manga, the series initially relied on comedic relief. Sometimes, the frequency would increase substantially and fans complained that the sequel series had a more slice-of-life feel to it.
However, when we take a look at the spoilers for Two Blue Vortex chapter 10, we have reason to believe that this series could become the next Jujutsu Kaisen, and here’s why.

Boruto manga’s potential to explore darker themes makes it the next Jujutsu Kaisen

Those who have read the Two Blue Vortex manga chapters will realize that there was a massive shift in the overall mood of the manga. Characters seemed a lot more serious, there were little to no moments of comedic relief, and the stakes have never been higher. Naruto has been sealed in a different dimension and the likes of Himawari Uzumaki are forced to take on the Shinju, who are literal clones of the Ten-Tailed Beast.
One of the most striking features of Jujutsu Kaisen is that the manga doesn’t shy away from exploring darker themes. The violence is gratuitous and characters are dying quite frequently. While the Boruto manga might not be there yet, signs certainly point towards a step in this direction. The latest incident in chapter 10, which was revealed through the spoilers, indicated the manga’s potential to have a more grim atmosphere.
Inojin, who is a character that was sidelined for most of the manga, may be dead in the upcoming chapter. The spoilers revealed an exchange between Team 10 and Jura, with the latter attacking and injuring Himawari. Inojin, in an angered state, approached Jura and tried to catch him off-guard. This resulted in Jura using Wood Style and impaling Inojin. The size of the object impaling Inojin was massive, and the injuries sustained seemed life-threatening.

If this is the case, Inojin would be the first among many shinobi who could die as the series progresses. With entities like Shibai Otsutsuki in the picture, we don’t know who the prime antagonists will be. The stronger the villain, the higher the stakes, and this in turn increases the chances of shinobi dying to the unknown antagonist.
Jujutsu Kaisen manga author, Gege Akutami, doesn’t shy away from killing his characters. Kishimoto and Ikemoto could take the opportunity to explore a darker route which wasn’t done in the original series. This is why we believe that this particular title could be the next Jujutsu Kaisen, owing to the sudden shift in the overall mood and atmosphere of the manga series.
