Dragon Ball Daima episode 8 begins the battle between Goku and Tamagami Number Three, with the latter showing great fighting abilities with his hammer and pushing the protagonist to use Super Saiyan. Ultimately, Goku manages to defeat him, thanks to a Kamehameha while using Super Saiyan 2, and he then has to face the challenge of discovering where the Tamagami hid the Dragon Ball among five cups.

Goku realizes that he threw it away when no one was looking and gets the orb, with a moment of Glorio talking with Arinsu and the party now heading to the Second Demon Realm. There was also a scene where Gomah and Degesu were watching the footage of Vegeta sacrificing to destroy Majin Buu and they realized that Arinsu was there, picking up a piece of the creature when it was destroyed.

The plot of Dragon Ball Daima episode 8 then switches to Arinsu, who meets with a witch named Marba, revealed to be the creator of Majin Buu, who she deemed an abomination who lost control. Then, the Glind reveals that she plans to create a new Majin using Buu and her own essence to become the queen of the Demon Realm, and has the backup of the Dragon Balls if things don't go her way. The episode ends with a comedic scene between Hybis and Vegeta.

Narrative review of Dragon Ball Daima episode 8: A great example of how to make an anime episode

Dragon Ball Daima episode 8 was a very strong offering, showcasing an excellent battle while also making significant progress with the plot. The battle showed the best of Goku's character as a martial artist and also portrayed Tamagami as a very compelling individual without a lot of screen time, which is always a good sign of storytelling.

The plot twist of Arinsu being the master manipulator of most events in the series has been a wise decision, as it adds an element of deeper complexity since there is now her faction, Goku's, and Gomah's. Moreover, the element of Marba being the creator of Majin Buu is certainly divisive and depends greatly on how it is going to be executed.

Furthermore, another great aspect of Dragon Ball Daima episode 8 is the fact that it didn't waste screen time at all. Almost every scene in this episode helped to move the plot forward and did so in a very entertaining manner, which is always a good thing when it comes to a serial story.

The voice cast remains a major constant throughout the series, with this episode being no different in that regard. As was the case in the previous episode, the voice actor of Tamagami Number Three, Kenta Miyake, was a stand-out performer as he added a lot of charisma and charm to his character.

In terms of the animation, it continues to be something that a majority of people have praised, including those who have been critical of the series. The Goku and Tamagami fight was one of the best-animated fights in the entire franchise, executed in a very compelling manner along with a strong choreography.

Dragon Ball Daima episode 8 continues with a subtle and effective soundtrack, which is quite fitting in this kind of story. There were not many moments where the soundtrack stood out in this episode.

Final thoughts

Dragon Ball Daima episode 8 was the best episode of the series thus far, combining a great battle, which is something that the franchise has become known for, and some major revelations with Arinsu's character. All of this made the episode quite enjoyable and built up the suspense for the next ones.
