Jujutsu Kaisen has one of the biggest and most diverse casts of characters within the current shonen genre. Although Gojo stands as the series' most popular and influential character, his entire story reflects a tale of failure and an attempt to cope with that failure.
Gojo's entire life revolved around nurturing a new generation of sorcerers that would surpass him not only in strength but in character as well. Given all of that, Megumi, who is practically Gojo's adopted son and one of his oldest students, might have been another sorcerer who surpassed him, but in a different manner.
Gojo's biggest failure was his inability to prevent Geto's fall from grace. Megumi also faced a similar situation with Yuji, but was able to keep both himself and Yuji on the right path while looking forward.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Gojo's students overcame his biggest failure
Gojo's story started as being the literal "Chosen One" within the jujutsu society, with his birth itself necessitating the emergence of stronger cursed spirits. Although most of his life was spent training within the Gojo clan, his time spent with Suguru Geto stood as the main period that catalyzed the development of his persona.
Gojo and Geto mostly considered their duo to be "The Strongest," but soon after Gojo's enlightenment, only he retained the title of "The Strongest." During the same time period, Geto witnessed the depravity of the non-sorcerers he was supposed to protect. This marked Geto's fall from grace and his abandonment of his status as a moral compass that kept Gojo in check.
Although it has never been officially stated, Gojo's actions signify that he blames himself for Geto's fall from grace, since he could not properly perceive Geto's inner turmoil and stop him from descending into depravity.
Megumi, arguably Gojo's first student, is one of the few characters who actually overcame this situation during the Culling Games arc. Yuji, who was experiencing inner turmoil due to Nobara's "death," as well as the massacre that Sukuna enacted through his body, was essentially led down a path of self-sacrifice.
Unlike Gojo, Megumi was able to notice this and reaffirm his beliefs in Yuji, essentially giving him a reason to continue on the right path, thus overcoming Gojo's biggest failure and surpassing him. Although Gojo still remains one of the strongest in terms of strength, his greatest achievements are his students, whom he was able to nurture.
Megumi's situation can be mirrored with Yuji as well, since Yuji was also able to bring back Megumi after he had given up on life. All of these combined make Yuji and Megumi the current iteration of the Gojo and Geto duo, which managed to overcome their inner turmoils by supporting each other and, in the process, surpassing the original duo in spirit.
Final thoughts
Jujutsu Kaisen ended with a total of 271 chapters, without the announcement of a part 2 or spin-off. Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 has already been confirmed and is expected to be released sometime in 2025. It is possible that the anime release will be accompanied by the announcement of a spin-off or continuation, given the immense popularity of the series.
