Notorious Hollywood actor Michael B. Jordan, in a recent interview with The New York Magazine, has admitted his interest in making an anime live-action adaptation among many more future projects. While Jordan didn't mention any series in particular as a project he would like to undertake, this is something that has gone viral across the anime landscape on social media.
Michael B. Jordan has often expressed his love for anime, naming Bleach and Naruto as favorites. In a recent chat with Vulture, he also mentioned he's currently watching Fire Force and Fate/Stay Night, showing his continued passion for the genre.
Michael B. Jordan expresses his interest in making an anime live action adaptation
As previously stated, during his interview with Vulture, Michael B. Jordan took the time to answer several questions regarding his future projects after the recent success of the film Sinners. One of the questions was about the different projects he would like to do, to which he said,
"For me, next, I'm doing Thomas Crown, I'm directing my next movie, Thomas Crown Affair. That's a movie I'm trying to make or i've been wanting to make for the past 13 years or so. So this is a big one for me."
He added:
"You know, producing more, directing more. You know, maybe find an anime, you know may be do a live-action version of that, anime."
The Hollywood actor didn't mention any particular franchise that he would like to tackle in the future nor he said that he was in talks for any potential project in this particular area. This was only a statement regarding something he would like to do in the future regarding this industry and his interest in it.
The actor's passion for this medium
It is common knowledge at this point that Michael B. Jordan has been a fan of anime for quite some time, constantly mentioning his passion for the medium and his desire to make something happen in that industry. Moreover, as previously stated, he mentions in this industry how he is currently watching the new season of Fire Force and the Fate/Stay Night adaptation, which goes to show how far his curiosity goes.
There is also the fact that he has stated in the past how much of a fan he is of author Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto series, to the point he got an illustration from the mangaka himself. On the other hand, he has also gone on record stating his passion for the Bleach franchise and how the fourth Espada, Ulquiorra Cifer, was one of his favorite anime characters for a long time, adding to this recent interview.
