On Saturday, October 12, 2024, My Hero Academia anime announced that the series' final season will premiere in 2025. This announcement was unveiled with a teaser visual, which was revealed as part of a teaser trailer released on TOHO Animation's official YouTube channel.
The anime's seventh season adapted the U.A. Traitor Arc and a significant portion of the Final War Arc from the manga. The anime's final season is set to adapt the remainder of the story arc, depicting the conclusion to the fierce final battle between the heroes and villains.
My Hero Academia season 7 finale confirms final season
On October 12, 2024, the final episode of My Hero Academia season 7 announced that the anime's next season will be its final season. This was revealed through a teaser trailer that previewed the anime's teaser visual.
The final season of My Hero Academia will premiere in 2025.
In the teaser trailer, Deku states:
"This is the story of how we became the greatest heroes."
This was followed by the announcement of the final season, revealing the teaser visual featuring the protagonist, Izuku Midoriya (Deku). The teaser visual was drawn by character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi.
The teaser trailer also revealed some of the returning staff of the final staff. This included the anime's Chief Director Kenji Nagasaki, Director Naomi Nakayama, Script Supervisor Yosuke Kuroda, and composer Yuki Hayashi. Also, as made evident from the announcement above, Yoshihiko Umakoshi will be working on the anime. He will be joined by Hitomi Odashima.
With the upcoming final season, Boku no Hero Academia anime will have a total of eight seasons. The final season will adapt the manga's conclusion, including the fierce battles between Deku and Tomura Shigaraki, and All Might and All For One.
The anime's seventh season concluded two major character story arcs surrounding Toya Todoroki and Himiko Toga. Toya's story concluded with Shoto stopping his elder brother alongside his family. As for Himiko's story, it concluded with the villain rescuing Ochaco from her possible death.
With the announcement in place, it is to be seen if the anime will conclude just as Deku stated in the teaser trailer or if it has a different meaning. Will the story end with everyone becoming the greatest heroes, or will they perish?
