On Friday, April 26, 2024, The Irregular at Magic High School season 3 television anime series revealed a new trailer and visual for its upcoming new arc in the third season of the series overall. The arc, titled the Steeple Chase Arc, is set to begin with the release of the series’ next episode in Japan on Friday, May 3, 2024.

The promotional video for The Irregular at Magic High School season 3’s new arc also previewed the new ending theme song Snow Noir, which will be performed by Sangatsu no Phantasia. As of this article’s writing, currently available information suggests that there will not be a new opening theme for the upcoming Steeple Chase Arc.

The Irregular at Magic High School season 3 serves as the continuation of the television anime adaptation of author Tsutomu Sato and illustrator Kana Ishida’s original light novel series of the same name. The franchise originally began as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website by Sato, with this original format starting in October 2008 and concluding in March 2011.

As mentioned above, The Irregular at Magic High School season 3 released a new 30-second-long trailer for its upcoming Steeple Chase Arc. The trailer also previewed the new ending theme song for the series in this specific arc. A new key visual for the arc was also revealed alongside this information.

The highly anticipated Spring 2024 anime series first began airing in Japan on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11 on Friday, April 5, 2024. This was preceded by an advanced screening event held on Sunday, March 31, 2024. Crunchyroll has been streaming the series internationally with subtitles as it airs in Japan weekly.

LiSA is set to perform the third season’s opening theme song Shouted Serenade, while Kairi Yagi will be performing the ending theme song recall for the third season’s Double Seven Arc. It has been reported that the ending theme song Shion no Hanataba, which translates to A Bouquet of Purple Flowers, will be performed by ASCA for the Koto Nairan-hen, also known as the Ancient City Rebellion Arc.

The series stars Saori Hayami as Miyuki Shiba, Yuichi Nakamura as Tatsuya Shiba, and Kiyono Yasuno as Minami Sakurai.

Returning cast members for the anime’s third season include Yumi Uchiyama as Erika Chiba, Satomi Satou as Mizuki Shibata, Takuma Terashima as Leonhart Saijo, Atsushi Tamaru as Mikihiko Yoshida, and Sora Amamiya as Honoka Mitsui.

Joining them as the cast for the series are Yuiko Tatsumi as Shizuku Kitayama, Emiri Kato as Fumiya Kuroba, Aoi Yuki as Izumi Saegusa, Maaya Uchida as Ayako Kuroba, Kana Hanazawa as Kasumi Saegusa, Eri Kitamura as Kasumi Saegusa, and Koji Yusa as Zhou Gongjin.

The original light novel series which the television anime adapts first began in July 2011, and concluded in September 2020 with 32 total volumes. A sequel light novel by Sato and Ishida began in January 2021 and is ongoing as of this article’s writing with six total volumes released. The series also released a theatrical anime film in 2017.
