Saturday, November 23, 2024 saw Toei begin previewing the upcoming main promotional video for the Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! anime series on their official YouTube channel. While the video has since been made private, it both revealed the anime’s January 10, 2025, release date and the full promotional video’s release on Thursday, November 28, 2024. The video will begin streaming at 6PM Japanese Standard Time on November 28.

The preview for the main promotional video for the Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! anime also revealed the release time for the series, as well as what channels it will air on in Japan. It’s likely, but unconfirmed, that the main promotional video will both confirm this initial release info, and reveal the anime’s streaming availability in Japan at least, if not globally. However, this is purely speculative as of this article’s writing.

Per the description of the preview for the Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! anime’s official trailer, the series will begin airing on AT-X in Japan on Thursday, January 10, 2025 at 10 p.m. JST. The series will later air on MBS, TBS and CBC’s Animeism programming block on Friday, January 11, at 1:53 a.m. JST. The anime will also air on BS11 starting on Sunday, January 13. No other release or streaming information is available for the series as of this article’s writing.

The anime stars Yusuke Kobayashi as Kazuhiro Kitase/Kazuhiho, and Kaede Hondo as Marie. Additional cast members include Yumi Uchiyama as Wridra and Rico Sasaki as Mewi. It’s expected that additional cast members for the series will be announced before its January 2025 premiere. Sasaki is also performing the opening theme song “Palette Days,” while Nijisanji VTubers Kaede Higuchi and Kanae are performing the ending theme song “Yummy Yummy.”

Toru Kitahata is directing the anime series at Studio Zero-G, with Aya Yoshinaga both writing and overseeing the series scripts. Madoka Hirayama is the character designer and chief animation director. It's expected that additional cast staff will also be announced ahead of the anime’s January 2025 premiere. This information could even be coming as soon as Thursday with the release of the main promotional video for the series.

The Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! anime serves as the television anime adaptation of author Makishima Suzuki and illustrator Yappen’s light novel series of the same name. The story began as a web novel from Suzuki on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in February 2017, with the light novels beginning in August 2018. Both formats are still ongoing, as is a manga adaptation from artist Shimo Aono. All three are released in English by J-Novel Club.
