My Hero Academia’s official website and X account have recently announced the My Hero Academia WORLD BEST HERO, which is primarily a global character popularity contest. This event is held to celebrate the end of Mangaka Kohei Horikoshi’s celebrated series after its decade-long run.
Fans can cast their votes for their favorite characters, whether they are heroes or villains, in this poll. In this global poll, all 278 My Hero Academia characters will be competing against each other to determine who is the most popular. My Hero Academia WORLD BEST HERO marks the series' first global character popularity poll, inviting fans from around the world to cast their votes online. The event unfolds in two stages: the Main Stage and the PLUS ULTRA STAGE.
Initially, all 278 characters will compete for votes in a two-month poll on the Main Stage, and the winner of this stage will receive the title of WORLD BEST HERO. The top three characters from this stage will advance to the PLUS ULTRA STAGE, where they will compete in a final 24-hour voting championship for the prestigious title of "THE MHA."
How to vote for your favorite hero in My Hero Academia WORLD BEST HERO?
Fans can cast their votes for their favorite characters on the My Hero Academia WORLD BEST HERO website, with one vote allowed per day. Voting resets daily at midnight JST. The Main Stage poll opens on Monday, August 5, 2024, at 6:00 pm JST, and closes on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 11:59 pm JST.
For the PLUS ULTRA STAGE, fans can vote for one of the top three characters from the Main Stage between Monday, December 2, 2024, 8:00 pm JST and Tuesday, December 3, 2024, 7:59 pm JST.
Any changes to the voting schedule will be updated on the official website. During the final voting stage, fans are allowed to vote once per hour, with a maximum of 12 votes allowed every 24 hours.
Result announcement
The midterm results for the poll will be revealed on the My Hero Academia WORLD BEST HERO official website on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 7:00 pm JST. The final results for the Main Stage will be announced on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 7:00 pm JST.
The results for the PLUS ULTRA STAGE will be revealed on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 9:30 pm JST. Both final result announcements will be part of special programs airing on Shonen Jump's official YouTube channel, Jump Channel.

Poll Result Sharing Campaign
For this category, participants must follow the anime’s X account (@/myheroacademia) and share the daily poll results throughout the voting period. Each account can apply multiple times.
Three lucky winners will be randomly selected to receive a digital data with a personalized signature from Mangaka Kohei Horikoshi. Winners will be announced via a notification sent directly to the winners' DMs on X in mid-October 2024.
Fan Art Contest
For this category, fans can start submitting their artwork of their favorite hero on X with the hashtags #WBH_FANART or #頑張れって感じのファンアート (DoYourBestFanArt) from Monday, August 5, 2024, at 6:00 pm JST. The contest will be open until Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 11:59 pm JST.
Results will be announced on Sunday, September 15, 2024, on the My Hero Academia WORLD BEST HERO site. Ten selected works will receive a digital data with a personalized signature from Mangaka Kohei Horikoshi.
Super Poll Event
For this event, four voting events will celebrate My Hero Academia's final chapter and the upcoming final fan book, scheduled for release in January 2025.
The categories are – most popular Hero Name (August 5-11, 2024), Quirk (August 12-18, 2024), Best Chapter (August 19-25, 2024) and Manga Volume's Inside Covers (August 26-September 1, 2024).
Each person can vote once per category. Fans can also submit questions to Mangaka Kohei Horikoshi. The results and answers will be included in the final fan book.
