Astros acquire RHP Justin Verlander and cash from Mets for OF Drew Gilbert and OF Ryan Clifford

This was the highlight of the trade deadline, Verlander was unsure about his future with the Mets and after Max Scherzer trade things became even worse, Mets have made major moves and this was expected to happen, Mets will send $35 million to the Astros to cover some of Verlander's 2023-24 salary.

Orioles acquire RHP Jack Flaherty from the Cardinals for INF César Prieto, LHP Drew Rom and RHP Zack Showalter

This is a major addition for the Orioles, Flaherty has an ERA of 4.43 and will be a great addition to the Orioles pitching lineup.

Cardinals get two good prospects in return who could developed into stars in future if things go in the right direction.

Red Sox acquire INF Luis Urías from Brewers for RHP Bradley Blalock

Urias is not expected to be a starter, he an addition to the in-fielder depth chart, this season was a struggle with injury but he is expected to be a key backup option in the future.

Blalock is a decent prospect with an ERA of 2.19 combined in Single-A and High A games, he could be developed into something meaningful for the franchise.

Phillies acquire INF Rodolfo Castro from Pirates for LHP Bailey Falter

Castro is a player who can play mutiple infield positions, he adds decent depth when it comes to In-fielders and would be a good backup option.

Bailey Falter has had a rough season this year, Pirates expect the better part of him as he is expected to get over this pitching slump in near future.

Angels Acquire RHP Dominic Leone from the Mets sending Jeremiah Jackson to New York

Angels have been active in this year's deadline, they add a decent pitcher in Leone as he has an ERA of 4.40, he isn't expected to do wonders because Anaheim has a Japanese star to do that, Leone is just expected to help in the relief section

Infielder Jeremiah Jackson on the other hand is a young prospect, he could be helpful in the long term if things go well

Yankees acquire RHP Spencer Howard

The New York Yankees added some help for their struggling pitching lineup, Howard has a 7.20 ERA in 38 appearances, his contract also expires this year hence this move can be a short-term experiment but given the position of Bronx Bombers, the team really cannot afford a failure.

Rays trade RHPs to Cubs

The Tampa Bay Rays are on the verge of completing a trade agreement with the Cubs, securing the services of right-handed pitchers Adrian Sampson and Manny Rodríguez, in addition to international free agent funds. In return, the Rays will be sending right-handed pitcher Josh Roberson to the Cubs.

On the back of a crushing 5-1 defeat to the Rays, the New York Yankees stumbled into deadline day with a whimper. According to MLB insider Joel Sherman, the Bronx Bombers are in partial-sell mode. Impending free agents Wandy Peralta, Luis Severino and Harrison Bader are reportedly on the trading block.

According to MLB insider Ken Rosenthal, the Houston Astros remain in contact with the New York Mets for a sensational deadline day trade involving 2022 AL Cy Young winner Justin Verlander.

Rangers continue to add dependable arms

The Rangers continue to bolster their pitching. According to MLB insider Jeff Passan, the Cardinals have agreed to a trade that will send Jordan Montgomery and Chris Stratton to Arlington. In return, St. Louis will receive left-hander John King, infield prospect Thomas Saggese and pitching prospect Tekoah Roby.

The Texas Rangers and New York Mets have negotiated a trade deadline shocker that will see ace Max Scherzer head west in exchange for shortstop prospect Luisangel Acuña, the brother of Atlanta Braves superstar Ronald Acuña Jr.
