Much to the fans' relief, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has brushed off all their worries with a positive update on both Ohtani and Kim. As for Freeman, the organization will currently keep an eye, but he’s managing fine as of now.

Earlier in the game against the San Diego Padres, Hyeseong Kim exited early due to some discomfort in his right elbow during his first at-bat. Roberts said, “He’ll be fine,” and given they get a day off, it’ll be a good day for a rest.

During the game, Shohei Ohtani was seen limping a bit after a triple in the ninth inning. Ohtani’s slide collided with Padres’ shortstop Manny Machado, hurting his foot in the process.

However, he appeared to be fine and even scored following Will Smith’s RBI single. Prior to the series finale, Roberts also gave an update on Freddie Freeman’s injury.

Freeman “tweaked” his muscle during Tuesday night’s game, but it’s not a serious injury, according to Dave Roberts. He said the first baseman is working through a squad injury.

“He’s managing it. That’s why he’s in there today.”

Freeman’s health is one of the top concerns for the Dodgers as they try to be cautious to avoid any follow-up disaster. It’ll be a huge blow for the team to lose Freeman amid their already injury-ridden lineup.

Prior to the final series between the LA Dodgers and San Diego Padres, manager Dave Roberts sent a cryptic message on Shohei Ohtani’s pitching date. His message confused many and left the fans wondering when the two-way superstar would return to the mound.

Roberts said the chances of Ohtani returning as a pitcher before the All-Star break are “north of zero”. The team will not let Ohtani take the mound until they get positive confirmation from the medical team.

He was last seen on the mound in August 2023, when he was still part of the Los Angeles Angels. It’s not only the Dodgers, but the MLB world is keeping a close eye on his return. Despite the vague messages, Ohtani is undoubtedly coming close to his return date on the mound.
