The New York Mets enjoy huge popularity in Puerto Rico, and they may have found a new fan - Bad Bunny.

In the recently released music video for Arcangel and Bad Bunny's latest collaboration, "La Jumpa," the Puerto Rican music sensation could be seen sporting Mets gear multiple times.

Mets fans were naturally overjoyed and took to Twitter to appreciate Bunny's sartorial choice, as well as poke some fun at the New York Yankees. Here are some reactions:

"I thought the Yankees were a global brand?"
"Absolutely love it."
"I want La Jumpa played from every rooftop in Queens this fall."

Bad Bunny has enjoyed massive success internationally in the last few years. New York Mets fans are definitely not complaining about their latest addition to their global fanbase.

In September 2022, the Mets' social media page posted pictures of their current team members with Puerto Rican roots. Six players and a coach were featured in the photo, posted on Sept. 26 with the caption:

Those featured in the picture were: Francisco Lindor, Mark Vientos, Mychal Givens, Edwin Diaz, Seth Lugo, Tomas Nido, and Joey Cora (third base coach).

Shedding some more light on the Mets' history with Puerto Rican players, Andres Chavez of The Cold Wire wrote:

"The Mets have some really relevant history with Puerto Rican players. Roberto Alomar, Jose Valentin, Pedro Feliciano, Carlos Delgado, Carlos Beltran, and even Javier Baez donned a Mets uniform in the past. Delgado and Beltran are particularly meaningful for fans. Evidently, there are many Mets fans on the island, especially now that Lindor is considered one of the leaders of the team."

New York Mets star player Franciso Lindor signed a ten-year contract with the club worth $341 million in 2021. He had a shaky first season at the Citifield but bounced back to claim an MLB All-Star selection and finish ninth in the National League MVP voting in his second season.

Meanwhile, fellow Puerto Rican Carlos Correa was close to signing a mega-contract with the Mets, but the deal fell through because of a previous injury.
