When Freddie Freeman left the Atlanta Braves to sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers, some expected this to be the tail end of his career. Now, in his second season with the Dodgers, Freeman is proving that he is as good as he has ever been. With the Braves and Dodgers meeting in a crucial National Legaue matchup, the player that links them is getting attention once again.

Freeman was an integral part of the Braves franchise over the last decade. He was named to the All-Star team five times, and won the MVP in 2020 with the Braves. In 2021, he was instrumental in leading the team to a World Series championship.

Barstool Baseball on Twitter pointed out that since joinging the Los Angeles Dodgers, Freeman hasn't lost a step.

Freddie Freeman will be turning 34 years old during this season, and is just as good as he has ever been. That kind of lonegvity is extremely rare in MLB players, let alone those with 14-years worth of big league experience. His ability to avoid injury and stay healthy is a testement to his conditoning. His offense still being top-tier is a credit to his work ethic and extremely high talent level.

With the Atlanta Braves, Freeman was the face of the franchise and beloved by their fans. With the Dodgers, his role is slightly different, but he is thriving regardless. It is never a sure thing that great players can leave their long-time team and succeed in a new location. Freddie Freeman has been playing so well he is making any and all doubters look foolish.

Freeman also brought a very important intangible skill to the Dodgers, leadership. He was often lauded for this skill while with the Braves. He carried it over to his new team, who have been benefiting from it.

Freddie Freeman's tenure with the Los Angeles Dodgers has been a resounding success.

The Dodgers are one of the top teams in the National League, thanks in no small part to Freeman. One of the few teams they are behind, coincidentally, is the Atlanta Braves. The San Diego Padres, New York Mets, and Philadelphia Phillies are in the mix, but not in that same echelon yet.

If Freeman wants one more championship ring, he will likely have to go through his old team, which will be no small task.
