American college women's basketball player Kayla Padilla is a guard for USC Trojans as of March 2025. She attended Bishop Montgomery and is a graduate student of the Trojans. During her high school career, she was a four-year starter and three-time team captain for coach Noelle Quinn at Bishop Montgomery, as per her college roster. She was a 2019 McDonald's All-American nominee and concluded her high school career with 1,907 career points, finishing second all-time in the school's history. She averaged 19 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks while she was in her senior year. Padilla is a four-time Four-time Del Rey All-League, first-team All-CIF Southern Section, and was also named Del Rey League MVP. As a freshman at Penn State, she was awarded Ivy League Rookie of the Year and First Team All-Ivy in 2020. The player attended all 27 games and started them all.

Padilla led her side to rank second in the Ivy League and sixth nationally among all freshmen as she recorded 17.4 points per game. The American basketball player concluded with 23 double-digit scoring games which also included 12 20-point performances. She also concluded the season with 73 made 3-pointers which was the fourth most in a season in the history of Penn. In addition to these, she also recorded a season-high 27 points on 10-for-14 shooting against Princeton, as per her college roster. As a junior, she achieved two-time Big 5 Player of the Week and Ivy League Player of the Week. That season, she started in all 20 games while averaging 37.6 minutes per game which was the most in the Ivy League and 11th in Division I. As a senior, she was ranked seventh all-time in Penn history in career scoring with 1,355 points, as per her college roster. She became one of the two players to start in all 29 games. Following her senior year at Penn State, Padilla transferred to the USC Trojans as a grad transfer.
