Kayla Padilla played a guard for the USC Trojans till the 2023/24 season. Before the Trojans, Padilla played for UPenn from 2019 to 2023. She worked as a student ambassador and received the highest accolades in high school as a George Montgomery Scholar with a GPA of above 4.5. Padilla also served as Vice President of the National Honor Society. In addition to being the creator of The Sideline Post, she is a USC master's student studying entrepreneurship and innovation to work in music or sports before starting her own business, according to the official USC Trojans roster.

Coach Noelle Quinn helped Kayla Padilla start for Bishop Montgomery High, played four years, and was the team captain three times. She finished second in school history with 1,907 career points. As a senior, Padilla averaged 19 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks per game. As a junior, she also amassed more than 1,000 career points. With a team-high 32.4 minutes per game average as a freshman at Penn, Padilla started all 27 games. Her 17.4 points per game led Penn, placed her second in the Ivy League, and placed her sixth overall among freshmen. She was named to the 2020 Ivy League First Team All-Ivy and Ivy League Rookie of the Year. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, all 2020–21 Ivy League winter sports were canceled on November 12. In the 2022–2023 season, Padilla led the Ivy League with 17.7 points per game and finished second in the Ivy League with 514 total points. She played 35 games for the USC Trojans after joining them for the 2023–2024 season.
