Kim Caldwell Coaching History

Caldwell started her coaching journey at Ohio Valley as an assistant coach for two seasons. She later joined the Sacramento State staff as an assistant coach from 2013 to 2016 before landing her first head coaching gig at her alma mater Glenville State. She has flourished since the start of 2016 and has led the program to six MEC regular season titles and four MEC Tournament trophies. Following the 2021-22 season in which she led Glenville to a 22-0 record, Caldwell was honored with the Pat Summitt Trophy.

Caldwell was also named MEC Coach of the Year in four of her seven years with the program. In seven years with the program, Caldwell led the Pioneers to an overall 191–24 record. After an incredible success at the Division II level, Caldwell was hired by Marshall during the 2023-24 season. In just one season with the program, Caldwell led the Thundering Herd to both the league’s regular season and tournament titles. She also led the school to their first NCAA tournament since 1997. However, following the conclusion of the 2023-24 regular season, Caldwell was signed as the head coach at Tennessee, becoming the fourth coach of the Lady Volunteers in the NCAA era.
