Fast X’s cliffhanger ending left Dominic Toretto in the toughest situation possible, but it also left the greatest setup for Fast 11. The production for the next Fast & Furious outing is yet to begin, but the director and team of writers are locked in. So, the story is already ready to go, and the person who saves Dom is also locked in.

Disclaimer: The following article contains spoilers for Fast X.

Dante attacked Dom and Little B with two exploding trucks, but the father-son duo somehow survived by driving down a dam. However, Momoa’s villain also installed a backup as the entire dam was also rigged to blow up. It was implied that Dom had nowhere left to go. But it is presumed that he will somehow save his son because Fast 11 needs to happen.

There are a few possible candidates who could come in to save Dom and Little B. One of them is Deckard Shaw, while the other could be Luke Hobbs, who may have already saved his old friend before showing up in the end-credits scene. But the most satisfying savior for fans would be Brian O’Connor.

After the tragic demise of Paul Walker, Furious 7 still had half of his scenes left to be shot. So, he was digitally reconstructed with the aid of his brothers, Cody and Caleb. Now with the franchise approaching its finale, the same could be done to bring him back for a bit in Fast 11. He is still very much alive in the Fast Saga, and this is the perfect time to bring him in.

After Mia left Little B, she probably went back to Brian in order to warn him about Dante and the Agency. She was also the one who knew where Dom wanted to reunite with her and Jakob. So, it would make sense for Brian and Mia to show up at that dam at the beginning of Fast 11.

James Wan gave Brian a perfect exit, but F9: The Fast Saga teased that he was still around. Now, the perfect moment for his return has also arrived as seeing him would literally have the viewers erupt with thrill and joy. He may or may not be kept out of action in the rest of the film. But bringing him back at the most important hour in order to save the day would certainly do justice to his character.

How the director of Fast X had already teased Brian's return

It would not be crazy to think of Brian’s return because Fast X director Louis Leterrier had already talked about it earlier this year. In a sit down with Total Film, he said:

“Well, Brian is very much alive in the world of Fast & Furious, and they’ve teased him a lot in the previous movies. In 9, we see the car coming. It’s something that is planned. This movie jumps back and forth between the past and the present.”

He continued to talk about Brian’s flashback heist scenes from Fast Five being featured in Fast X and teased the right time to bring him back.

He added:

“You will see Brian in the past, you won’t see Brian in the present. It’s something that everybody has to be on board with. The Walker family is still very much a part of this franchise, you’ll see how in this movie. It just has to be the right moment, the right tone. I think what James Wan did at the end of 7 was perfect. The tone was perfect. Brian has to re-enter the franchise as perfectly as he left it.”

So clearly, there was always a plan to bring Brian back. Now, in the opening of Fast 11, the tone is right because this is when Dom needs him the most!

Fast 11 hits theaters sometime in 2025.
