The Flash is all set to speed into theaters on June 16, 2023 but, until now, it was unclear as to when the tickets would go up for sale. However, thanks to a listing from Showcase Cinemas, fans now know when tickets for the Ezra Miller starrer are set to go on sale. According to the listing, the tickets for the Andy Muschietti film will go on sale on May 23, 2023. It is roughly three to four weeks before the film's June 16 premiere.

Although the date of the ticket sales was released, the time wasn't revealed. However, if fans were to go by the release times of previous DCEU films, it was 12 pm ET and the tickets for The Flash might also go for sale at the same time. Tickets for films like Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods both went on for sale at 12 pm ET.

Box Office Pro has claimed that the film would potentially make anywhere between $115 million and $140 million in the first weekend. Meanwhile, the total domestic projection of the film is estimated to be somewhere between $280 million to $375 million.

While fans are excited to see the film, there are some who wonder if Ezra Miller has a future as The Flash in the DCU, especially, in James Gunn's DCU. However, the success of the upcoming film will determine whether or not their iteration of the Scarlet Speedster stays in James Gunn's soft-rebooted DCU for further appearances.

That being said, critics who have seen the film are heaping it with praise. For instance, Fandango's Erik Davis called The Flash one of the best superhero films he has ever seen, saying that he was "in tears" by the end of the film.

Brandon Davis of Comicbook.com has praised the film's handling of the dynamic relationship between the two versions of Barry Allen in the film. Variety's Scott Mantz praised the performances of both Ezra Miller and Michael Keaton.

Interestingly, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise, himself has also praised the film after watching it. The outlet said that the actor "loved it so much" that he rang up the director Andy Muschietti to tell him how good the film was. The publication also reported that Cruise told Andy that the film had "everything that the audiences would want in a film."

From the critics and Tom Cruise's positive reactions to the movie, it looks as if The Flash will become a critical and commercial success. Thus, the chances of Ezra Miller staying in the DCU, despite the controversies surrounding them, are becoming higher.

The Flash is loosely based off Flashpoint and will also bring back Micheal Keaton as the Batman

The film is loosely based of the popular comic book storyline Flashpoint. It will see Barry Allen travel back in time to prevent his mother's death only for him to break the timeline and get trapped in an alternate dimension, where Michael Shannon's General Zod is alive and is still planning to invade Earth.

Barry then teams up with an alternate younger version of himself, Michael Keaton's Batman, and Sasha Calle's Supergirl to stop Zod and find a way to fix the timeline mess he created.

The official synopsis for the film reads:

"Worlds collide in The Flash when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation."

It continues:

"Unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian... albeit not the one he's looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry's only hope is to race for his life."

The Flash boasts a star-studded cast that includes:

  • Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/Flash; Miller also plays an alternate version of Barry
  • Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman
  • Sasha Calle as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl
  • Michael Shannon as General Zod
  • Maribel Verdu as Nora Allen
  • Ron Livingston as Henry Allen
  • Kiersey Clemons as Iris West
  • Antje Traue as Faora
  • Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman
  • Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman

Additionally, Saoirse Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso, and Luke Brandon appear in undisclosed roles.

The Flash is written by Christina Hodson and directed by Andy Muschietti.
