13th November, 2014 will forever be etched in the memories of every Indian cricket fan. It was the day when Rohit Sharma carted the Sri Lankan bowlers all around the ground and recorded an unbeaten 264, which remains the highest individual score in ODI cricket history. Rohit struck 33 fours and 9 sixes during his epic knock. In fact, the next highest score in the Indian innings was 66 by Virat Kohli.

Rohit’s gargantuan innings propelled India to 404/5. In reply, Sri Lanka were cleaned up for 251, with only Angelo Mathews offering some fight, scoring 75 runs. For the Indians, Dhawal Kulkarni bagged a four-wicket haul whereas Stuart Binny and Umesh Yadav chipped in with a couple of wickets apiece.

Even though the Islanders scored 251 runs, they fell short of India's total by 153 runs. Astonishingly though, they also fell short of Rohit Sharma’s individual score of 264 runs.
