The only player to amass 1500 runs and play over 40 matches in World Cups

#4) Janette Brittin (England)

She was the leading run-scorer for England in ODIs until 2003

England’s Janette Brittin is second in the list of players with most runs in women’s World Cup history. She had a 15-year long career for England which spanned between 1982 and 1997.

She was the leading run-scorer for England in ODIs until 2003 as well. Brittin scored a total of 2121 runs in 63 ODIs that included five centuries and eight fifties. Interestingly, four of those hundreds and three of those fifties came in World Cup matches. Her highest score in World Cups is 138*.

Moreover, no one has ever been able to better her Test tally of 1935 runs in 27 matches. And when it comes to her number of Test hundreds and fifties, it stands at the top of the list as well. Her record of 5 Test hundreds and 11 fifties remains unbroken even after 20 years of her retirement.
