A left-arm seamer who tries to swing the ball every time he gets his hands on the red cherry, Sam Curran is an effective batsman down the order as well. Curran got his chance at the highest level against Pakistan in 2018.

Curran's most notable moment came during England's home series last year against the number one Test side in the world - India. Originally, Curran was selected as a bowler, but it was his heroics with the bat, coming at number seven that helped England on a number of occasions after their top and middle-order failed to deliver time and time again.

It came as a no wonder when he was awarded as the Player of the Series, that England won quite comprehensively. He then played a vital role in whitewashing Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. Curran has played 10 Tests and has 18 wickets at an average of 30. Also, he averages 32 with the bat, with his best score being 78.
