Swashbuckling opener Glenn Maxwell made a comeback to Australia's T20I and ODI squads after returning successfully to take part in BBL09 post a mental health-related issue. Maxwell's BBL exploits were well acknowledged by the selectors as he was named as the captain of the 'team of the season'.

Maxwell has scored 389 runs and has taken eight wickets in BBL this season and has been in red hot form throughout the tournament. Marcus Stoinis, however, failed to make it to the national side despite making 612 runs in 15 matches at an astonishing average of 55.64 thus far.

"It is fantastic to have Glenn back in both squads given his brilliant form in the middle order for the Stars along with his results with the ball... Glenn was one of the first picked in the most recent T20 team at the start of the summer, prior to his break from the game."
