SK Play of the Day: Ajinkya Rahane takes a stunner to send Peter Handscomb back

The fourth and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar series between India and Australia is set to go right down to the wire as the two sides are battling out in a nail-biting encounter at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association stadium in Dharamsala.

With the second innings currently underway at the scenic stadium, Australia seem to be in deep trouble losing five wickets before the scoreboard reaching the century mark. Umesh Yadav took the wicket of David Warner in the 4th over of the innings to put Australia in a spot of bother.

Steve Smith led the fightback for the Kangaroos once again but was dismissed by a short delivery bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Matt Renshaw too was dismissed soon after that to an excellent delivery by Umesh.

However, Peter Handscomb and Glenn Maxwell led the revival and put on a 56 run partnership with the latter looking dangerous and counter attacking the Indian bowlers. Handscomb, on the other hand was playing second fiddle and rotating the strike well. The match looked to be going back in the opposition's favour when Ajinkya Rahane produced a stunning catch to send Handscomb back to the pavilion.

In the 25th over of the innings, Jadeja bowled a length ball, outside off, which hit the bare patch and refused to turn. What it also did is took the extra bounce, and flew off the edge of the bat. Rahane fell behind to his right and took a spectacular reflex catch.

With the momentum in India’s favour, Jadeja struck in his very next over as well to dismiss an injured Shaun Marsh. Australia went into Tea with 92 runs on the board with the loss of 5 wickets and 60 runs ahead of India.

Earlier today, India came out all guns blazing at the beginning of the day with Ravindra Jadeja taking the attack to the Australian bowlers. He scored his second half-century in consecutive innings.

He formed a 96 run partnership with Wriddhiman Saha but was dismissed to a Pat Cummins delivery after scoring 63. The rest of the batting line-up soon crumbled after that as India were bowled out for 332, 32 runs ahead of the Kangaroos. Cummins ended with 4 wickets to his name while Lyon took his second five-wicket haul of the series.
