India have yet again proved to be a notch above the competition. Their dominance of Bangladesh in the recently concluded series, which they won 2-0, just reinforces how well this team has been playing in Tests recently.

India's fast bowling attack proved to be way too hot to handle for a struggling Bangladesh team, who only had the experienced Mushfiqur Rahim putting up some resistance.

Apart from hosting and successfully winning their first ever day-night Test, there were many statistical records created and broken during the course of this two-match Test series. Here's detailing and breaking down all those records:

1. India have now won 12 Test consecutive series on home soil. This is a record for the most home series won on the trot.

2. India's win in the historic day-night Test by an innings and 46 runs was their fourth consecutive innings victory. This is the first time ever that a team has won four consecutive Tests by an innings.

3. India have now won 46 Tests overall by an innings. That makes them joint third on the list along with South Africa, and they trail England (104) and Australia (93).

4. India have managed to win their last seven Tests on the bounce: against West Indies (two), South Africa (three) and now Bangladesh (two). This happens to be India's longest winning streak in Test cricket, something Virat Kohli and Co can be really proud of.

5. Kohli as Test captain has won 11 matches by an innings, which is the most by any captain from the sub-continent. The overall list is headed by former South African skipper Graeme Smith, who has 22 innings victories to his name.

6. The Indian skipper has now led India to 33 victories, making him the fifth most successful captain in the history of Test cricket. He has surpassed Allan Border on the list; Border led Australia to 32 victories.

7. During the course of the day-night Test, Kohli became the sixth captain to reach the 5000-run mark, and it took him a mere 86 innings to do that.

With India scheduled to play their next Test series in New Zealand, it remains to be seen if they can continue their dream run. But the way the team has performed both at home and abroad lately, the fans would be confident that they can go on to scale new heights overseas too.
