Mithali Raj becomes first woman cricketer to play 200 One Day Internationals

Indian women's ODI captain Mithali Raj became the world's first female player to play 200 ODI matches. She played her 200th match against New Zealand at Hamilton on Friday, which was won comfortably by the Kiwis.

The Indian captain made her debut long back in the year 1999. Since then, the Indian women's team has played a total of 263 ODIs, and out of which Mithali took the field in 200 matches. She has also played 10 Tests and 85 T20Is in her career so far.

Mithali Raj scored unbeaten 63 runs in the last match but, could not do anything special in her 200th match. She only managed to score nine runs off 28 balls before getting out to Kasperek. This was also the third and the last ODI match between India and New Zealand, which the Kiwis won by 8 wickets. However, India has already taken the series by winning the first two matches.

The 36-year-old is also at the top in the list of highest run-getters in ODIs. She has scored 6622 runs at an average of 51.33, which included seven hundreds. She has also scored an astonishing 52 fifties in ODIs so far.

England's Charlotte Edwards is second in the list after Mithali. She has scored 5992 runs in 191 matches at an average of 38.16, which included nine centuries. Apart from them, Australia's Belinda Clark is third with 4844 runs in 118 matches at an average of 47.49.

Talking about Indian players, Anjum Chopra is second after Mithali Raj. She has played 127 matches for India and scored 2856 runs, including a century, at an average of 31.38.

India's T20I captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, is third in the list. Harmanpreet has scored 2244 runs in 93 matches at an average of 34.52.
