The West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul now holds the record for playing the highest number of Test innings (265) before being stumped. Having played 193 innings, former South African captain Graeme Smith previously held the record.
Following the just concluded final Test between New Zealand and the West Indies of the 3-match series at the Carribean islands, which ?the visitors won 2-1, the 39-year-old, who got stumped off the bowling off off-spinner Mark Craig, overtook him to snatch the top spot.
