According to one top official of Sri Lanka Cricket ,former Indian cricketer Venkatesh Prasad‘s name was among eight short listed candidate for the post of head coach of Sri Lankan national team.
Present coach Graham Ford will be not available from next January.
Former Sri Lankan criketer Marvan Atapattu , Romesh Kaluwitharana and another national player Ruwan Kalpage are aspirants from Sri Lanka.
Former assistant coach of the Sri Lanka Paul Farbrace and former England coach Peter Moores are the other foreign aspirants.
Former medium pacer from India, Prasad enjoys a good spell as a bowling coach of India. He was formerly also associated with the India’s U19 team.
