The Bharat Ratna is the Republic of India’s highest civilian award, and legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is in his order to win it.
Tendulkar and eminent scientist Prof C N R Rao will be conferred with the country’s highest civilian honour by President Pranab Mukherjee at a function on February 4 at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Tendulkar and Rao will join a list of 41 eminent personalities who have been conferred with the award for excelling in varied aspects of their career since it was instituted in 1954.
Tendulkar is the first sportsman and the youngest recipient of the the Bharat Ratna.
