The two most inconsistent teams in this edition of the World Cup, South Africa and Pakistan will lock horns in a Super Sunday encounter at the iconic Lord's ground.

Pakistan's World Cup campaign had got off to a rough start as the Windies sent them packing in the first match. However, the Men in Green bounced back in their second match and defeated tournament favorites, England. Sarfaraz Ahmed's men are yet to record their second win in this tournament having played 3 matches after that win.

South Africa have had a more dismal campaign than Pakistan. They have lost matches to New Zealand, India, Bangladesh, and England whilst winning their match against Afghanistan. They have 3 points to their name in 6 matches.

A defeat for either side will knock them out of the race. So, which team will stay alive in the tournament? Here is today's match prediction:

This is the first match of the tournament which will be hosted at Lord's which means the pitch would be fresh and have something for the pacers. Pakistan have the right pace attack but it will be a tough decision to make for Sarfaraz in case he wins the toss. Pakistan's only victory came while defending the total but in their first match, they were skittled out for a lowly total.

With the South African batsmen suffering from poor form, Pakistan should elect to bowl first and then unleash the trio of Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, and Hassan Ali. They should even include Shaheen Shah Afridi to bolster their bowling attack. If Pakistan bowls first and keeps South Africa between 200-250, then it will be an easy win for Pakistan.

South Africa have tried everything they can in the World Cup but they have failed miserably. With very slim chances of making it to the final 4, South Africa should try to have a bowl first and then restrict Pakistan below 200. However, Pakistan's batsmen played well against India and scored 212 in 40 overs which means they have the ability to reach 250.

Pakistan have fared way better than South Africa in this tournament and they have the character to bounce back once again. If the Pakistanis play to their full potential at Lord's, no one can deny them a victory.

So, the prediction is that Pakistan will defeat South Africa in the battle of equals.
