India's world-class spin-bowling all-rounders, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, should both play in Southampton. There was talk of overcast conditions prompting India to field a pacer instead of one of the two, but former India captain Sunil Gavaskar recently revealed that the sun is out in the English city.

Ashwin and Jadeja may not send down overs in tandem like they do in home series, but the duo will be absolutely crucial in the lower-middle order.

The biggest dilemma India will face ahead of the WTC final is which pacer to pick - Ishant Sharma or Mohammed Siraj. With Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami certainties to take to the field at the Rose Bowl, the role of the third fast bowler is still up in the air.

While Ishant has prior experience of playing in England and against New Zealand, Siraj is in a rich vein of form after playing a starring role for India in their historic Test series win Down Under.

In a game as important as the WTC final, India will be well-advised to not take any risks. And although they can't go wrong with either bowler, Ishant - who has served the Test team well over the years - should be selected to play in what will be one of the most important games of his career so far.
