Fallout 4 Next-gen update is here, and many players are eager to find out what new quests were added with this patch. As was the case with the Skyrim Anniversary Edition, this free update breaks more things than it fixes for PC players. But, it does add some new bonus Creation Club Content.

In this guide, we will go over all the new quests introduced to Fallout 4 with its Next-gen patch, and where you can find them.


How many quests were added to Fallout 4 in the Next-gen update?

All in all, the Fallout 4 Next-gen update integrates seven new quests into the base game, including a few Enclave sub-quests. Of these quests, only three are brand-new, with the rest being older Creation Club Content releases that have been repurposed and made canon.

Here are all the new quests:

  • Echoes of the Past
  • At Hallow's Eve
  • When Pigs Fly
  • Crucible
  • Best of Three
  • Pyromaniac
  • Speak of The Devil (and Enclave Radio)

This quest starts on the road that trails off to a broken bridge due south of Saugus Ironworks. You will automatically pick it up when you approach Saugus Ironworks from the north.

After that, it's a matter of following the trail of blood to pick up on how the caravan went missing. Facing off against the Enclave, there are some good Enclave-themed lootables in this quest, including a set of Enclave Hellfire Mk-II Power Armor.


How to start the Crucible quest

Within the Saugus Ironworks is another self-contained quest called 'Crucible'. Although the quest itself is not too complicated, you can fish around for some secret goodies - including an Explosives bobblehead near Slag's starting location.

The Crucible mini-quest rewards you with a Heavy Incinerator, one of the new powerful weapons in Fallout 4 next-gen update. However, to grab the Heavy Incinerator, you will need a Power Armor leg module that makes you immune to fire damage.

How to start the All Hallow's Eve quest (Halloween Workshop)

(Spoiler Alert: This quest involves a puzzle, and if you want to figure out the answer by yourself, skip to the next section.)

Starting the quest for the Halloween Workshop CC Content is pretty straightforward. All you have to do is trace the source of the mysterious broadcast: Harbormaster Hotel. Inside, you will have some Halloween-themed shootout setpieces and a puzzle.

The puzzle involves a key that requires a password to open. While you can deduce this from the clues in the rest of the rooms, you can also directly guess it if you have high Perception stat. The keycode is 4346.

Rewards include the Halloween Special edition of Picket Fence, and several Halloween-themed equipment, including the De-Capitalist Helmet for Power Armors.

This quest takes place in the Monsignor Plaza building, located in the downtown Boston area. Simply follow the marker to the building to start the quest.

The reward for finishing this small quest is the entire Makeshift weapon pack. Among these homebrew armaments, you can buy the Nail Gun and Sawblade Launcher from Suggs, the first character you run into during the quest.


How to start the 'Best of Three' Quest

The quest marker will lead you to a dead gunner near Vault 95. There are two more dead characters whose Pipboy data you need to download:

  • One is at the Hopesmarch Pentecostal church
  • Another is at the Skylanes Flight 1665

This quest rewards you with the Tesla Cannon weapon.


How to start the 'Pyromaniac' quest

You can pick up and finish the Pyromaniac quest in a new camp southwest of Listening Post Bravo. Kill Pyro and his entourage to pick up a Hellfire Power Armor set.


How to start the 'Speak of the Devil' quest

This quest to find a guaranteed set of X-02 Power Armor can be picked up at Wattz Consumer Electronics. It will take you through a couple of areas, culminating in the Boston Police Rationing site, where you can also start the bonus quest, Enclave Radio.
