Prince of Persia The Lost Crown is set to resurrect one of the biggest franchises in gaming as the official launch date draws closer. The game will be released on January 18, 2024, and those who own the Deluxe Edition will get early access on January 15. Ubisoft released a demo for its upcoming title earlier this week, on January 11, 2024.

Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, the creator of the Rayman franchise, Prince of Persia The Lost Crown is a puzzle platformer with hack-and-slash combat. Because the previous Prince of Persia titles were 3rd person action-oriented, newcomers to the genre or returning franchise fans may find the game a little challenging.

So, the following piece will cover five tips and strategies to help you on your journey across ancient Persia.

Best tips and tricks for Prince of Persia The Lost Crown

1) Healing

Prince of Persia The Lost Crown's combat can be brutal, as saving just before a difficult encounter is not always possible. You have a meter on the top-left corner of your screen that will represent Sargon's HP.

You have two methods to replenish your health points before heading to a difficult situation or after finishing one of the many challenging gauntlets of the game. The first one is simple: you will find health potions that will moderately restore your HP, and alternatively, you can rest at the Wak-Wak trees to replenish your health. You can also replenish any health potions you consume from these trees.

2) Farming Time Crystals

Time Crystals are one of the most important currencies in the game. These crystals allow you to upgrade your weapons, purchase various improvements to your gear, and unlock your map.

There are a few methods you can use to farm Time Crystals:

  • You can rest at a Wak-Wak tree to make the enemies respawn.
  • You can kill these enemies again and repeat the process to farm the crystals.
  • Another way to obtain this currency is by defeating bosses.
  • You can also receive Time Crystals as a reward for completing the side quests and the various combat challenges of Artaban.

3) Switch your amulets according to the situation

Amulets provide various passive and stat bonuses that help you explore the world of Prince of Persia The Lost Crown. These trinkets can be found while exploring the various regions of Mount Qaf, and some of them can alternate your gameplay style, such as the Blade Dancer, which adds an extra hit to the end of your melee sequence.

Remember to keep switching your amulets according to your situation and take full advantage of their various stat and passive bonuses. The Horned Viper amulet, for example, negates poison damage, which might be useful when going through game zones full of foes who can inflict the aforementioned condition. However, you can swap the amulet for another in locations with no enemies that can inflict poison.

4) Visit Haven often

The Haven is your main hub for Prince of Persia The Lost Crown. Here, you will find numerous allies willing to aid you in your journey. Remember to visit the Haven often, as you must upgrade your weapons and gear to combat the game's various foes and platforming challenges.

This area houses several important NPCs, such as Atarban, who will offer various combat challenges, Kaveha, who provides various gear upgrades, and a mage, who provides health upgrades.

5) Master parrying and dodging mechanics

Dodging and parrying mechanics are essential to survive the challenging encounters in Prince of Persia The Lost Crown. You can dodge enemy attacks, which will negate any damage the foe hurls at you, and it is the safer option to do so.

However, parrying enemy attacks is necessary against bosses. You can parry incoming projectiles and melee attacks. Successfully doing that will hurl incoming damage back at enemies, thus quickly depleting them of their HP. Master both parrying and dodging early on in the game, and you will have a relatively easier time against tough foes.
