Genshin Impact 5.7 livestream summary: New characters, banners, events, and more

The Genshin Impact 5.7 livestream was recently held, wherein HoYoverse announced many details regarding the upcoming content that will premiere in version 5.7. Apart from two new characters — Skirk and Dahlia — Genshin Impact 5.7 will also feature a brand new Archon Quest, rerun banners, and fresh new events. New characters

Two new characters will be releasing in Genshin Impact 5.7, who are the following:

• Skirk (5-star Cryo)
• Dahlia (4-star Hydro)

Skirk is a DPS unit who is expected to breathe life back into the Frozen meta, while Dahlia is a shielder who also doubles as a decent healing unit.

New Archon Quest

As announced during the Genshin Impact 5.7 livestream, a brand new Interlude Archon Quest featuring the twins and Dainsleif will be available in version 5.7. Titled "A Space and Time for You", this quest will take place in Natlan, and will involve the traveler teaming up with Dainsleif to take out various Abyssal threats, while also looking out for their sibling.

A new story quest featuring Skirk will be available in Genshin Impact 5.7. Titled "Crystallina Chapter: Act I", this quest will give players a glimpse into Skirk's background story and will provide more details about her personality and character.

New gameplay mode

As revealed during the Genshin Impact 5.7 livestream, a brand new permanent gameplay mode called "Stygian Onslaught" will be introduced in the upcoming version. This gameplay mode is somewhat similar to the currently existing Spiral Abyss, in that players will need to form separate teams and defeat the enemy bosses.

With every update of Genshin Impact, the Stygian Onslaught challenges will be refreshed. Players can choose their difficulty level and complete these challenges in order to earn various types of in-game rewards. The Stygian Onslaught rewards also include a new type of item called "Dust of Enlightment", which will let players re-roll their artifacts in order to obtain better substats.

As revealed during the Genshin Impact 5.7 livestream, players can challenge two new Envisaged Echoes challenges for Raiden Shogun and Shenhe in version 5.7. Clearing these challenges will allow you to claim and equip their Echoes.

System and QoL optimizations

As revealed during the Genshin Impact 5.7 livestream, the following system updates and QoL optimizations will be available once version 5.7 goes live:

• Mobile players can choose which quest resources to keep and which to delete, which can help free up space by deleting past resources.
• When playing Spiral Abyss, players can now choose to retain their team line-up while moving on to the next floor. Additionally, the Floor 12 Chamber 3 challenge can also be restarted directly after finishing it (from the finalization screen at the end).
• Fragile Resin can now be used to directly claim rewards from Artifact Domains, Talent Domains, and Ley Lines.
• The Adventurer's Handbook will add guides for overworld bosses, which will be useful for newer players. The icons for the bosses will now be displayed in the order in which they were unlocked in game.
