Preparing for the boss fight
The Anguished Guardian of the Ruins in Lies of P Overture has a large health pool. To trickle it down efficiently, you'll need to exploit its weakness to fire. For the Legion Arm, use the Framberge. Utilize any weapon that deals good fire elemental damage and scales well with your build. Select amulets that support the same gear and bring some Legion Magazines to refill your Legion Arm ability.
Defeating Anguished Guardian of the Ruins in Lies of P Overture

From the moment the fight starts, the most efficient way to deal damage is to stay close to him. However, you'll need to learn how to Perfect Guard/dodge his attacks to pull it off. It's best to evade since it has more lenient timing. The boss's erratic behavior can make Perfect Guarding difficult.

However, it is recommended that you learn to at least parry his red body slam attack. It will allow you to deal some damage while he is recovering. Anguished Guardian of the Ruins in Lies of P Overture has two lock-ons – one on the head and the other on the claws. If your timing is right, you can use the Flamberge to deal damage to one of the talons and his head at the same time.

Keep striking, and Anguished Guardian of the Ruins in Lies of P Overture will eventually enter his second phase. He will gain a few new attacks, with the laser being a major one. In this move, he'll ready up and fire a beam from his mouth.
There are two variations of this. In one, the laser will go from back to front, while in the other, it'll go left to right. His head will tilt in the direction that the beam travels. For both variants, rush to the right claw and start attacking it (use the lock-on). For the first variant of the laser, keep some distance between you and the talon. If he does the second version, stick close to the same claw.
Keep Perfect Guarding his red body slam move, and he'll eventually stagger. Be wary when he does go down, though, as the same animation can still hurt you. When he's down on the ground, use the Flamberge's ability on either his claws or head.

Another move that many people struggle with is when he slams his sword, creating an AoE. If you can't dodge/parry it, make sure to at least block it to lessen your health loss. Heal the remaining amount.

Keep attacking him, and you'll eventually defeat Anguished Guardian of the Ruins in Lies of P Overture. This unlocks the eponymous achievement in the DLC.
