The Blood of Dawnwalker, by ex-CDPR devs gets a 2026 release window

The first gameplay trailer for The Blood of Dawnwalker premiered during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, and it looks promising. The game has been developed by RebelWolves, founded by a former CD Projekt Red talent who worked on popular titles like The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. The studio released a cinematic teaser a few months ago, but gave little to no information regarding a release date.

While the wait continues, the recent Xbox Showcase at least confirmed that The Blood of Dawnwalker will be arriving in 2026. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming RPG so far.

The Blood of Dawnwalker: Everything we know so far

The Blood of Dawnwalker is a dark-fantasy action RPG set in a 14th-century gothic world known as Vale Sangora. You will be playing as Coen, a half-human and half-vampire (known as Dawnwalker in the game), who must navigate the world and fight against various creatures to save his sister within 30 days.

The team behind it was formed in February 2022 by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the ex-director of The Witcher, following his departure from CDPR in May 2021. This game aims to deliver a medieval vampire story with really strong emotions and deep narration.

The visuals look amazing, thanks to the usage of Unreal Engine 5. While the gameplay trailer did not reveal much, it was enough to ignite excitement amongst the RPG genre fans.
