Carlos Sainz Jr. is a Spanish racing driver who competes for Williams in Formula One (F1). Son of the two-time World Rally Champion Carlos Sainz, Sainz Jr. graduated to junior formulae from karting in 2010. He won his first championship at the Formula Renault NEC in 2011 and also finished runner-up to Robin Frijns in the Eurocup in the same year, as per reports.

After winning the Formula Renault 3.5 Series championship in 2014, Sainz Jr. signed with Toro Rosso in 2015. In 2017, he moved to Renault, replacing Jolyon Palmer. In 2019, he signed with McLaren. He replaced Sebastian Vettel and signed for Ferrari in 2021, partnering Charles Leclerc. After being replaced by Lewis Hamilton in 2025, Sainz Jr. joined Williams to partner Alexander Albon the same year.
