The two time World champion, one of the best drivers ever to grace the Formula One cockpit Fernando Alonso has finally decided to bid adieu to his terrific F1 career and would probably move to IndyCar series in the United States. This news hit the world last week and probably still we are not able to take it down our spines. He is a former Formula One Spanish driver who was driving for McLaren just before he announced his retirement. He drove in Formula One for good 17 seasons, bagged the World Championship title twice and is often labeled as one of the greatest drivers in the history of the sport.

The Spaniard marked his debut in Formula One as a test driver for Benetton in the year 2000 and drove for some famous teams like Minardi, Renault, Ferrari, and McLaren. He won 2 World Championship titles in the year 2005 and 2006 with Renault. Along with 2 World Championships, he has 22 pole positions, 23 fastest laps and 32 Grand Prix victories. He made it to the podium 97 times.

Alonso has always been fond of luxuries which would have inspired him to have his own lifestyle brand Kimoa. Fernando owns a spectacular range of cars and also has a limited edition Ferrari named after him.

#The Elegant- Ferrari 458 Italia

The Ferrari 458 Italia is a mid-engined sports car manufactured by Ferrari which is an Italian automobile manufacturer. Ferrari 458 has replaced the older version Ferrari F430 and was officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. Now, this has also been replaced by the latest version that is Ferrari 488.

It is powered by 4.5L Ferrari F136 F V8 engine which produces around 562bhp mated to a 7-speed dual clutch Getrag transmission. It was designed by Donato Coco at Pininfarina and its body computer system was developed by Magneti Marelli. It can reach speeds up to 340km/h and can achieve 0-100 Kmph under 3 seconds. The 458 costs a whopping $230,000 and it is too clear that Alonso must be more than happy over his lavish possession.

#The Dashing- Maserati GranCabrio

The stylish GranCabrio was unveiled by Maserati at 2011 Geneva Sports Motor Show. It is a new version of GranCabrio having a superior level of performance and handling. This version also comes up with 4.7-litre V8, coupled with the ZF six-speed automatic transmission and equipped with upgraded 450 PS/444 bhp version of the V8 engine, with 510 N⋅m (380 lb⋅ft) torque.

To add to the sporty look of the car, the headlights have black surrounds and has a slotted grille which is also finished in black. It also offers larger sideskirts along with mini winglets on the lower front corners. The GranCabrio accelerates from 0-100 kmph in merely 5.2 seconds. It can achieve a maximum speed of 285 Kmph. With so much in the offering, this beauty was priced at a whopping $355,000 and Alonso is definitely a privileged man.

#The Godzilla- Nissan GT-R

The Nissan GT-R is the successor to the Nissan Skyline GT-R which is a highly sought import in the JDM range. The Nissan GT-R was unveiled in 2007 and it is one of the best performance car manufactured by Nissan Motor Company. It is a classic sports car with F4 body layout, under the hood is a sturdy 3.8 L VR38DETT twin-turbo V6 engine mated to a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.

Nissan states that it can reach up to a maximum speed of 315 km/h (196 mph), however, the recorded top speed is 313 km/h. The chief creative officer of Nissan, Shirō Nakamura stated that "The GT-R is unique because it is not simply a copy of a European-designed Sports car; it had to really reflect Japanese Culture." The price of this classic machine is $99,900, it is one of the most economical performance car available in the market. This is one of the personal favorites of Alonso and he has been spotted very often behind the wheels of his Nissan GT-R.

#Super Luxurious- Ferrari California

The Ferrari California is a grand touring sports car which is manufactured by Italian automotive company Ferrari. When the California was originally unveiled, it was equipped by front-mid mounted naturally aspirated 4.3L V8 engine. However, the California T featured a 3.9L V8 twin turbo under its hood. The California was initially introduced as an entry-level model but gradually included several new design and innovations from Ferrari.

It was launched at the 2008 Paris Motor show and since then, it has been ruling the luxurious sports car segment. It was the first car to feature 7-speed dual clutch transmission and the first with multi-link rear suspension. It was also the first mid-engine Ferrari with a gasoline direct injection system. This luxurious piece was given to Alonso as a reward for his Malaysian Grand Prix victory and its cost a whopping $231,606.

#Ferrari 599 GTB- Fernando Alonso Edition

This special edition Ferrari was launched to pay tribute to the extremely talented driver Fernando Alonso who drove with Ferrari from 2010-2014. Only 40 of these limited edition 599 GTB was produced and each one celebrates a specific moment in racing history. It happened in 1951 that Ferrari driver Jose Frollan Gonzales won the British Grand Prix, the automaker's first F1 win. Sixty years later, Alonso won the same race and hence the Ferrari Fernando Alonso 599GTB was born, it celebrated 60 years of Ferrari Formula One victory.

It has a 6.0L V12 engine producing 611 Horses. It gets the HGTE package which includes stiffer suspensions, shorter springs, and stiff anti-roll bars for those who want to get the feel of a race car setup on the streets. The owners of these beauties are surely going to corner harder and faster with such a set up in the offering. This model went up for auction and was expected to fetch $3000,000 to $350,000.

Well, now the reasons are quite clear as to why Fernando Alonso's car collection is considered phenomenal quite like him.
