The Briton has struggled with the SF25 and was evidently unhappy with how the car felt during the Canadian GP. Hamilton was frustrated during his post-race interviews, suggesting he had a “really bad day” and that it was a “terrible” race for him.

Amid the fog of rumors, Lewis Hamilton came out ahead of the Canadian GP and put these rumors of his retirement to bed. Hamilton said:

“I’ve literally just started here with Ferrari and I’m here for several years, and I’m here for the long-haul, so there is no question in where my head’s at and what I’m working towards achieving with this team, so there’s zero doubts.” (via F1)

“They might be both gone by the end of the season or earlier!!” wrote another user.
A user mentioned, “Let the man overthink his own future in f1👍🏼”

The future of Frederic Vasseur has also come under speculation. According to reports, Vasseur was under a lot of pressure to deliver, with the upcoming three races in Canada, Austria, and Britain reportedly crucial for his future.

Some fans discussed Vasseur's role at Ferrari, and the decisions made by the Frenchman to lead the iconic F1 team, including the signing of Lewis Hamilton.

A fan mentioned, “Ferrari needs stability - a stable environment that allows for gradual improvements. Stop looking to put someone on the chopping block, there's clearly no quick fixes, they can't be changing team principals every few years.”

“Yeah any other TP would never have even thought about giving importance to washed drivers,” wrote another fan.
“It's good to see he has his back, but can Fred deliver?” commented a fan.

“Fred is the person to take us to the top”: Lewis Hamilton backs Vasseur amid the Ferrari exit rumors

Frederic Vasseur was brought in by Ferrari to replace the outgoing Mattia Binotto. Ferrari hasn't won a championship since the late 2000s, and Vasseur was brought in to change the same. However, Ferrari has been the second-best to Red Bull in the last couple of years, and now to McLaren.

Amid the struggles of 2025, rumors about Vasseur's future have started circling the paddock. However, Lewis Hamilton has come out and showcased his support for the Ferrari boss, saying:

“It’s definitely not nice to hear that there’s stories like that out there. Firstly I love working with Fred – Fred’s the main reason I’m in this team and got the opportunity to be here, for which I’m forever grateful for, and we’re in this together.”

“We’re working hard in the background, things aren’t perfect but, for me, I’m here to work with the team but also with Fred – I want Fred here. I do believe Fred is the person to take us to the top, so that’s that. So it’s all nonsense,” added Lewis Hamilton.

Charles Leclerc has scored podiums in the last couple of races, which has pushed Ferrari to second in the constructors' championship. However, the Maranello-based team is still a long way from McLaren's dominant pace.
