Hosts England play their last game in the league phase as they face New Zealand in what is an important game for both teams given their current position in the league table as part of the World Cup 2019.

England and New Zealand started the tournament in promising fashion but have stumbled off late with ten and eleven points respectively with one game remaining. With Pakistan breathing down their necks, both teams would be desperate to stave away from the challenge with a win as they look to progress into the semi-finals in the process.

With the Riverside Ground playing host to the match, another high-scoring game is the cards with big names such as Kane Williamson, Joe Root and Ross Taylor taking to the field on Wednesday. Here are a few tips to help you pick your Dream11 team.

Squads to choose from

England

Eoin Morgan (C), Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, James Vince, Jason Roy, Jos Buttler, Liam Dawson, Ben Stokes, Adil Rashid, Moeen Ali, Jofra Archer, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood, Liam Plunkett, and Tom Curran

New Zealan

Kane Williamson (C), Tom Blundell, Trent Boult, Colin de Grandhomme, Lockie Ferguson, Martin Guptill, Matt Henry, Tom Latham, Colin Munro, Jimmy Neesham, Henry Nicholls, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor.

Playing XI Updates

England

With the pitch in Durham not providing much turn, England should field an unchanged side with Liam Plunkett justifying his selection after picking up three wickets on Sunday against India. The opening duo of Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow have been exceptional while Joe Root and Ben Stokes have performed brilliantly with 476 and 370 runs respectively.

The bowling unit is well balanced with Jofra Archer and Chris Woakes providing a good start with the new ball and control in the death overs. Mark Wood's raw pace has troubled the opposition as well and would be one to watch out for against the likes of Latham and Taylor.

Possible XI: Roy, Bairstow, Root, Morgan (C), Stokes, Buttler (WK), Woakes, Plunkett, Rashid, Archer and Wood.

New Zealand

After making his World Cup debut against Australia on Saturday, Ish Sodhi could make way for Matt Henry given the nature of the pitch with the rest of the side remaining unchanged.

Martin Guptill and Tom Latham's dreadful form is a cause for concern but the duo should be persisted for this game while the onus will once again be on the experienced duo of Williamson and Taylor in the middle order.

Lockie Ferguson and Trent Boult have been New Zealand's go-to men in the bowling department with 17 and 13 wickets respectively and the pace duo will hope to rattle the England batsmen upfront with their unique skill-set.

Possible XI: Guptill, Nicholls, Williamson(C), Taylor, Latham(WK), Neesham, Grandhomme, Henry, Santner, Boult and Ferguson.

Pitch Report

A flat track beckons the two sides with both West Indies and Sri Lanka scoring in excess of 300 in the previous game here. There will be some swing upfront with the new ball although the batsmen should be able to play their natural game on this surface from the start.

Fantasy Tips and Suggestions

Wicket-keeper: Inspite of their below average form, Jos Buttler and Tom Latham are the preferred choices ahead of Jonny Bairstow with both of them expected to score some runs come Wednesday. While Buttler has shone in glimpses, Latham has had a dismal tournament and would love to come to the party in what is a do-or-die game for the Kiwis.

Batsmen: Kane Williamson and Joe Root have done well this World Cup with more than 440 runs to their names whilst batting in the top order. Both of them are must have players in the team alongside the likes of Martin Guptill and Eoin Morgan, who are due for a big score on Wednesday.

Allrounders: Ben Stokes has arguably been England's best player with 370 runs and six wickets to his name. He is one to keep an eye on while one of Colin de Grandhomme or Jimmy Neesham should suffice in the allrounders department.

Bowlers: The trio of Chris Woakes, Trent Boult and Lockie Ferguson are picked in the bowling department given their wicket-taking ability and form heading into this game. Along with them, Jofra Archer is also a decent option provided the balance of the side suffices while Liam Plunkett has also impressed to warranty a place in the team.

Captain: Kane Williamson and Joe Root are considered to be among the elite batsmen alongside Virat Kohli and Steven Smith and should turn up in this much-awaited clash. With their bowling ability already yielding a couple of wickets, they are valuable assets to choose as captain. Along with them, Ben Stokes and Martin Guptill are also viable options to opt for as captain.

Fantasy Suggestion #1: Jos Buttler, Tom Latham, Kane Williamson, Joe Root, Martin Guptill, Ben Stokes, Jimmy Neesham, Trent Boult, Lockie Ferguson, Chris Woakes and Liam Plunkett. Captain: Kane Williamson, Vice-Captain: Joe Root

Fantasy Suggestion #2: Jonny Bairstow, Tom Latham, Joe Root, Ross Taylor, Martin Guptill, Jimmy Neesham, Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Chris Woakes, Trent Boult and Lockie Ferguson. Captain: Joe Root, Vice-Captain: Martin Guptill.
