#7 Josef Bican

josef bican

The player with a most incredible goals to game ratio of 1.52, Josef Bican was the season’s highest scorer in Europe on 5 separate occasions. Bican had the ability to play with both feet. He also had considerable pace and was able to run 100 metres in 10.8 seconds, which was as fast as many sprinters of the time. The International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) even awarded Bican the "Golden Ball" as the greatest goalscorer of the last century.

The Austrian is best known for his time with Rapid Vienna and Slavia Prague. He is also the only person in the history of the game to score 7 goals in a game on three different occasions.

His goalscoring exploits with Vienna and Prague are scarcely believable. In 49 games for Vienna he scored 52 times, while with Prague, he played 179 times scoring an astonishing 395 goals. With 805 goals in his career, the tall, handsome and speedy Austrian is considered by many to be the greatest striker of all time.
